Great opportunity this morning to reflect on the work that we do at Dii Desert Energy / Desertec3.0 and MED•GEM Network in connecting nascent hydrogen markets across regions, in particular between Europe and MENA. I auggest simplicity to get the hydrogen economy going: 1. A central hydrogen clearing pool to socialize the cost differential over the energy sector (avoid tax and spend to make it politically robust) 2. A central hydrogen reserve in key markets, for example 5 million ton in Europe 3. A feed-in tariff for hydrogen much like the German Renewable Energy Act 4. Differentiated pricing to incentivize energy users to switch away from alternatives 5. Decoupling physical hydrogen flow from green quality through a certificate system
