Utah's 2024 legislative session is approaching quickly! Last session I was able to intern at the capitol and see first hand how the process works with Representative Sandra Hollins,L.C.S.W. Here are some things I learned that could help you as you advocate for and against policies this session: ✉ Let your representative know that you are in THEIR district when communicating! This little piece of knowledge will help your representative prioritize for your voice to be heard! 💡 Many bills get edited and changed throughout the session and from previous sessions. Use your insights to share how a bill has or will be of negative or positive impact in your area. 👥 Support local advocacy groups that share YOUR views! Not only will combined voices help in advocacy, these groups often have more availability and resources to meet with representatives on your behalf! 📅 Don't wait for the session!
