Engineering Management @ RIT | Ex-JBT Automated Systems | Ex-Plug Power | Lean Six Sigma Green Belt | Industrial Engineering | Operation & Supply
How the following skills helped me land Co-op, exceed managerial expectations, and enhance contribution through better alignment of my skills and expertise. In the dynamic world of internships, success lies not only in completing tasks but in the ability to read between the lines of managerial expectations. Managers desire interns who go beyond the surface, anticipating needs and proactively engaging with the work. Aspects such as: Art of Questioning: Managers value interns who don't just wait for information but actively seek it out. Your doubts should be a few steps ahead of what's currently explained. This involves honing the art of questioning – asking not just for clarity but exploring the deeper intricacies of the tasks at hand. Striking a Balance: While managers expect you to seek guidance, they also appreciate self-sufficiency. It's about finding the right balance; ask questions when needed, but show independence in tackling challenges. This ability to navigate between seeking guidance and taking initiative is what sets exceptional interns apart. Building Expertise: One key aspect is building a solid foundation in your area of expertise. This not only demonstrates commitment but also enables you to grasp concepts swiftly, allowing you to ask more nuanced and informed questions. These skills not only helped me land an internship at Plug Power but also to contribute meaningfully. With this, I am delighted to announce the commencement of my internship at JBT Corporation's Automated Systems Division in Kingston, NY, where I am serving as a Manufacturing Co-Op. This facility is distinguished for its expertise in manufacturing high-end Automated Guided Vehicles, utilized across various industries. I extend my sincere gratitude to Stephen Munisteri and Robert Streck for entrusting me with this valuable opportunity. Additionally, I would like to express my appreciation to Sasha Gunter and Lori Minott for their invaluable support during my interview and onboarding process. As I embark on this journey, I am eager to contribute my skills and experiences to augment the exceptional work undertaken at JBT Corporation. Here's to a productive and impactful year ahead, marked by significant contributions to the team and the organization.

Earlier today, I had the privilege of attending the Lehigh Valley Internship Summit by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp.. 📚 It was a valuable experience to learn about how companies across our region, like EnerSys, are utilizing interns to drive strategic objectives. The summit covered insightful topics like Generational Differences and Interns, as well as the influence of AI on internships. 💡 🧠 It was an excellent opportunity to network and expand my knowledge base. 🙌🏻 #Internship #Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment

Securing a summer internship during your junior year is crucial because it often leads to full-time offers. The problem is, you have less time than you think! 😨 For example, recruitment for 2027 grads (2026 Summer Internships) kicks off NEXT SEMESTER (Fall 2024) 🤯 But how do you even keep track of when the applications are open and when to apply? 😕 The good news is you can use our application tracker for free! 📩 Just DM us your email, and we'll add you to the WSO Academy waitlist. ✅ Make sure to submit your application to receive our complimentary application tracker. #investmentbanking #wallstreet #financecareers

Interns: The best 5 minutes you can spend before leaving! It's feedback season! With internships coming to a close, make sure you leave with a clear idea of how you performed. Talk to your supervisors, team leaders, and peers. Also, take some time to reflect on your experience. 📌 Did you enjoy it? 📌 What did you learn? 📌 Did you feel valued? 📌 Was the environment good for growth? These are the important questions to consider as you wrap up the summer. The answers to these questions will help you develop in the future. __________ I post weekly content to help college students and young pros be successful. If that's you, welcome aboard Jerah Reeves
