That's exactly what “Tort” did, learning and transforming from a green tech into a Technical Project Support Specialist who now spearheads projects for one of our biggest clients. Hey everyone!! Jumping in on the "International Day of Happiness Challenge" by DXFactor, I wish to vocalize what I'm grateful for here at DX, as I continue to grow as working professional. Micromanagement is something that is universally frowned upon, as it pushes individuals into a corner and gives them a sense of being placed under constant mistrust by their superiors. When employees are allowed to grow, thrive, and figure out solutions, pave a path that is their own and make actual contributions that elevate the overall delivery process and pipeline, it not only helps the organization, but also the individual. By giving the employees a sense of accountability without having to constantly and forcefully enforce it, everyone steps up on their own tries to outperform themselves, grow and evolves themselves into better versions of their current self. The thing I loved the most about DXFactor and what I'm still grateful for, is precisely this, replacing micromanagement with a culture that enables individuals to grow. New beginnings can be nerve-wracking, but oh-so-exciting! 🎉 Moving in with my boyfriend and working with a lot of amazing new colleagues at Bravura Sverige, I couldn’t help but draw parallels between them two, and the similarities are uncanny! From the initial butterflies to wondering how it'll all unfold, the parallels between moving in together and collaborating with new colleagues are striking. It's all about navigating uncharted territory with a mix of anticipation and a sprinkle of nerves. When you decide to share a living space, you're essentially merging two worlds into one. It's a beautiful blend of compromise, understanding, and shared goals – much like collaborating with colleagues on a project or in a process. In both scenarios, you learn to navigate differences, find common ground, and leverage each other's strengths to achieve a common objective. It requires clear expectations – everything from household chores to financial management, establishing a solid foundation built on trust and accountability sets the stage for a harmonious coexistence. Moreover, I have in an early stage learned that just like in a professional setting, effective communication is vital. Whether it's discussing household finances or brainstorming ideas for a project, open and honest communication fosters a sense of unity and ensures everyone is on the same page. Like moving in with your partner, working with new employees comes with its own set of uncertainties. Will you mesh well? Will your quirks be embraced? Will he or she accept my shortcomings? But just as you find your groove at home, you gradually find your place within the team, realizing that each individual adds a unique flavor to the mix. The key? Embrace the journey! Just as you learn to compromise and communicate in your new shared space, you'll find yourself doing the same in the office. It's all about finding common ground, respecting each other's boundaries, and, most importantly, enjoying the ride together. So here's to embracing the unknown, whether it's in love or in your career. What is company culture? Salesforce clearly took the word culture and brought it to life... I read an article this morning on Yahoo Finance, where Boardwave Founder Phill Robinson shares his experience of working with Marc Benioff in the early days (if you can call $100m in revenue the early days... but now with a market cap of $192bn I guess so 😅). Marc wore a Hawaiian shirt... where most other CEOs would be in a suit and tie. Marc brought his dog to the office, registered the Golden Retriever as Chief Love Officer...where most other CEOs expected you to separate work & home life. Marc was very interested in the human beings inside his company... where most CEOs cared more about numbers on a spreadsheet. Mandatory Yoga, massages and ensuring people are looked after and treated well holistically might feel less out of the ordinary in successful companies today, but I see why the #ohana feel has ran deeper than just internally at Salesforce tower and resonates with all of us within the ecosystem. In no world do I think a business can mandate a bit of yoga once a week, dot bean bags around the office and assign a pet a role on the board to solve their culture issues, but I do think the message here is clear... Look after the people in your company, take fast action and decisions to get results, have a wider view on society & charity and have a vested interest in culture being more than just a buzzword... and THAT's company culture in my eyes. #culture #companyculture #salesforce #ohana

Taking brief pause on a busy day to celebrate 20yrs since I founded Laughing Mind after finishing at SMS Management + Technology and taking a #Nepal trek as sabbatical. Been a long time since I stood at Everest Base Camp. It's been quite a journey, juggling demanding project delivery, raising a family, and taking on new stretch goals, including becoming an Atlassian Solution partner, juggling two Gold level entities at one point. In that time, the reinforcement of the value of remote work has really proven itself, allowing the opportunity to balance work + parenting with tools like #Confluence #Jira providing a steady pulse of work cadence. Too many clients in that time to thank for the opportunities to work together, spanning projects that included FirstNations Health; Digital Health; Property Management and Asset systems; MedTech; Accessible Cities; Micromobility; EV Sector events; Hackathons; Innovation Challenges; CleanTech and more.. Many projects have led to longer term friendships, which are cherished, forged through the adversity of project delivery and mutual growth. Incredibly grateful to all I've worked with in those years, including those who've supported my ventures (special thanks to Growthwise on that front) and others that I've grown ongoing collaborations with. The company I work for was acquired back in November... Having never been through this before my head was filled with so many questions about what my future held in this role. I mean, our team went from 14 to 200 in the matter of days. While typical onboarding involves a leisurely two-week acclimatization period, here we are, diving headfirst into full-time responsibilities alongside our newfound colleagues, grappling with unfamiliar software on our Macs, and juggling an overwhelming amount of emails, messages, and meetings. The chaos was palpable, especially for a neurodivergent like myself. Gone are the days of traditional hierarchies; instead, we've embraced a Team of Teams ethos, where we're granted autonomy and accountability in all of our work. And just like that, we became a remote-first workplace. Fast forward four months... I couldn't be more grateful for how all of this has unfolded. There's not been one single person at GMB that has an ego, that hasn't been available for help no matter when I've needed it. They've answered so many questions, invited us into their work, listened to us, given us room to process, allowed silence so that everyone has space to speak, and have approached every concern, every comment, every question with an open mind. Remote-first work has woven seamlessly into the fabric of my family... and has given us life again. Team of teams has been nothing short of transformative (albeit challenging). But its empowered me to step into leadership and given me to confidence to make decisions on my own which has given me room to do my best work. I know this is a very unusual experience for an acquisition and I truly count myself lucky everyday to have the support and care that I do at work. What was once a great job has now become something truly special, thanks to the remarkable individuals at GMB and my amazing teammates at Up&Up, a GMB Brand. Their warm embrace has turned what could have been a daunting acquisition into a shared journey of innovation and growth. I am so grateful.
