Disability Employment Awareness Month is a reminder of how important it is to embrace inclusivity in our workplaces. It shines a light on the incredible strength of employees with disabilities, who navigate daily challenges while making meaningful contributions. Just because the odds may be against someone or they need to adjust their approach doesn’t make them any less capable; in fact, it reveals their remarkable creativity and determination. When we recognize their talents and celebrate their resilience, we create a more accepting environment where everyone can shine and feel valued. Together we can spread awareness and change the stigma!
We proudly celebrate the many contributions of America’s workers with disabilities and continue to promote disability inclusion in the workplace and our communities. https://lnkd.in/erSM7D7g

Chief Deputy Behavioral Health Director at Solano County; LMHC, LPCC; Recovery & Health Equity Leader
We cannot say we promote recovery if we do not promote inclusive hiring and and access to supported employment for people with behavioral health conditions. Yet this is often the last thing practitioners think of and only when they feel people are “ready”. We need to end paternalism and ableism, and promote true shared decision making in care and community inclusion. This starts with higher education and field experience. Our behavioral health field must evolve if we want to see sustainable outcomes. #ipsworks #supportedemployment #recoveryisreal
