One of my goals for 2025 was to explore new design skills and tools, especially within motion design. This past month, I took time to learn interactive motion through Rive. From hover animations to dynamic transitions, interactive motion is becoming more prevalent than ever and Rive is an up-and-coming platform in that space. I learned the basics of how it works and the possibilities for interactions that can be created. Below is a design I created to celebrate learning a new platform. I look forward to exploring Rive further and seeing where the platform goes. Now that graduation is confirmed, I want to share one of my favorite projects during my time at the University of Edinburgh: a ray-traced renderer written with C++ standard libraries (with some advanced features and support for custom PLY models, PPM textures, simple animations, multi-threading, BVH, etc.) (This animation was rendered with animation data exported from Blender, and with alternate frame rendering to distribute workload.)

This project is a 3D animation and rendering software as a submission for Graphics Project of 5th semester (IOE, Pulchowk Campus). It is written in C17, SDL and Vulkan, and it does not use any external libraries or frameworks for graphics. Everything, including the user interface, the font rendering, and the viewport rendering, is done from scratch. The software is intended to be a learning project, but it is not yet fully functional or stable and I guess never will be. It may have bugs, glitches, or crashes, and it is not recommended for production use. https://lnkd.in/gBYKSf3g

I created this quick animation as a personal test to keep my knowledge of the graph editor sharp during downtime at work. I'm currently going through Ben Marriot's "Master to Motion Design" course and realizing more and more that my struggle lies in creating graphics and vectors. My background doesn't lie on graphics design which is 75% of what motion design is. Relying on creatives to hand me designs to animate could be the detriment to my growth. I'll be looking to find Design courses after going through this amazing course. #2Danimation #motiondesign #aftereffects
