What's your project management methodology? Don't have one? Join us..... Yesterday we heard about Initiating a project. CONGRATULATIONS! Your project has been accepted. Now what?! The next phase is Planning. In this phase we firm up the data in our project charter. We start to put things together in a work breakdown structure (think of a org chart for the different levels of your project) and eventually into a project plan. Don't worry about that project plan. It doesn't have to be fancy. At the end of the day it's just a list of all the tasks that need to be completed, due dates, resources to complete them, notes and some sort of evaluation of the status of the task. Many people get very worried about creating the project plan and the Gantt chart. Never fear, Excel is here (or Monday.com, Airtable, Jira, MS Planner, etc, etc)! Yes, you can use MS Project if you are comfortable. More often than not, using one of the alterative solutions previously listed works as well if not better than Project. (Not throwing you shade MS Project, but you are just a bit overly complex for an everyday user). So get going on that project plan because the real work starts happening next! #katielabedz #projectmanagement #learningtolean
