SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS & VIEWS ON IWCF / IADC COURSE CONTENT How good are we and How much useful after passing IWCF or IADC well control course. Are we getting sufficient time to practice simulator ? Is the IWCF or IADC well control courses naratingv recent past Well control incidents major or minor ? Does the course really focus on why the well control incidents happened even after having certified crew and supervisors on the rig . When trip tank is used to monitor during trips why we need to stress our self to calculate how many stands to pull under wet or dry conditions. Kill mud weight to be maintained without any safety margin ? Does the industry following this ? I don't think so ? What will happen the pressures DP and Casing pressures in case kill mud weight is more than actual requirement. Industry is going on mad rush for IWCF or IADC certification but not focusing what is missing Share your thoughts and views

🚨 - Interesting information gathered from the 2023 WASA, by IRATA International. Here are 2 of the many key takeaways for 2023, going into 2024: ❌ 1️⃣ - Failure to identify hazards was, once again, by far the most widely reported management factor, with nearly 60 reports. ❌ 2️⃣ - Collectively, pre-use inspection of all ropes and rope access equipment frequently identified defective or damaged items; this confirmed the value of checking equipment immediately prior to use and placing no reliance on previous inspection of in-use or as-issued equipment. How to address going forward: ✅ 1️⃣ - Recognising the value of pre-work site inspection to identify hazards, potential dropped or falling items, site defects, congestion and access/egress problems and potential conflict with other work or operations (particularly in lifting/lowering combined operations). ✅ 2️⃣ - Reinforcing the necessity to check all rope access equipment immediately prior to use, irrespective of any previous inspections. We should be constantly striving to meet and exceed the standard, so that our clients, colleagues and anyone else who could be impacted by our operations are shown the true benefits of #compliant #efficient #ropeaccess.

Happy to say our 'Crane Skills Assessment / Training' is gaining a lot of interest now. A unique way of identifying the qualities of the #lorryloaderoperator. It shows some very interesting results and shines a light on what we know....and 'what we don't know' about how #craneoperators operate. Oh, and we had our first candidate take down the overhead cable last week. This particular operator has over 30 years experience! The excuses he made were really quite amusing 😀 He can't claim to be 'the best' anymore 🤣 Better it was done in an assessment / training environment though. This way we have the opportunity to #observe and #apply the #specific information to the candidate on what they can do to: 1. Stop preforming dangerous manoeuvres 2. Acknowledge the bad habits that they have developed 3. Learn about alternative skills & techniques 4. Gain confidence by applying improved procedures 5. Become a safer, more competent crane operator If you would like to know more about the 'crane skills challenge' 😉 Then drop me a message or give Jaime Wallis a call 👍 #skillsassessment #training #craneoperators #professionaldevelopment #londonbuildersmerchants #timbermerchants #allmi #fors #qdl

OSHA's Final Crane Rule pertains to the regulations and safety standards for crane and derrick operations in construction. Some Key Components of the Final Crane Rule are as follows... https://buff.ly/3IJHQP0 Operator Certification: One of the central aspects of the Final Crane Rule is the requirement for crane operators to be certified or licensed according to the type of crane they are operating. Employer Duty to Ensure Safe Operation: Employers are responsible for ensuring that crane operators can safely operate the equipment. This includes providing necessary training beyond the certification requirements when needed. Equipment & Wire Rope Inspection: The rule mandates regular inspections of cranes to ensure they are in safe operating condition & inspections of wire ropes used in crane operations, including criteria for when ropes must be removed from service. Signal Person Qualifications: The rule requires that individuals acting as signal persons for crane operations must meet specific qualifications to ensure they can effectively communicate with crane operators. Documentation: Employers are required to maintain documentation of operator certification, inspections, and assessments of the operator's qualifications. #AllPurposeCraneTraining #Cranes #CraneTraining #CraneOperator #CraneSafety #CraneOperatorCertification #CertifiedCraneOperator #CraneCertification #SafetyFirst #FinalCraneRule
