🚧✨ Exciting News from Retford! ✨🚧 We’re thrilled to announce the start of construction on a vital new access road at the site of a new quarry, and it’s all made possible through the power of collaboration! Spadeoak is proudly teaming up with OCL Regeneration Limited and Aggregate Industries UK to deliver a 2.8km access road that embodies our commitment to innovation and sustainability. 🌱💪 By utilising OCL's Cement Bound Granular Material (CBGM), our skilled civils team is not just building a road; we’re paving the way for a greener future! This sustainable alternative to traditional asphalt uses recycled aggregates, providing a cost-effective solution while creating a solid foundation. As we excavate and stabilise the ground, our surfacing experts are hard at work installing a robust 200mm base course, setting the stage for an incredible transformation. Spadeoak begin the construction of a new access road in Retford Surfacing specialists Spadeoak, working in collaboration with OCL Regeneration Limited and Aggregate Industries UK, are constructing an access road at the site of a new quarry in Retford. The access road will be 2.8km long and Spadeoak is installing a 500mm treatment consisting of OCL‘s CBGM material, Foamix and top surface course. Our civils team began excavating the brown site to create the track and stabilise the ground before our surfacing teams started to install the 200 mm base course of OCL’s CBGM material. Cement Bound Granular Material (CBGM) is a great sustainable alternative to asphalt construction, utilising recycled aggregates this solution provides a more cost-effective material than traditional asphalt, replacing the base course and forming a solid foundation for the access road. The team will continue until Christmas to install the remaining CBGM and Foamix with the asphalt installation installed in January. Well done to our team on-site for the progress so far in what has been tricky conditions. Our teams have completed the CBGM installation layer and have begun to add a second layer of Foamix. Foamix is a sustainable asphalt solution, this innovative product is characterised by a high content of recycled asphalt, contributing to a significantly reduced carbon footprint during manufacturing. Foamix is designed to incorporate up to 92% recycled materials, ensuring a high level of environmental responsibility in its production and application. The team will continue this week to install the remaining Foamix with the asphalt installation installed in January.
