LEDucationNYC reposted this
I had this Commentary (linked below) already written and in the back of my mind as I attended LEDucationNYC last week. It directed a lot of my questions and conversations with other attendees, organization representatives, and exhibitors. Even at the speaker reception: For the time I was there, I had such engaging conversations with new-to-me contacts including Frank Agraz, LC, IES, Mark Duffy, Ph.D., Jessica Collier, and Andrea Wilkerson. During the show, I was delighted to spend a bit more time with Stuart Berjansky, Leora Radetsky, and Katy McSurdy of the DesignLights Consortium. (I only wish we'd had more chairs for you. 🙂) I even bumped into Dr Shelley James - The Light Lady on the show floor and we laughed about our recognition of each other from social media. The relationships we build with leaders in the industry - at different levels and organization types - are so important. It's not in our playbook to repeat what other outlets are doing. I hope David Shiller and Suelynn Shiller don't mind my referencing some post-event conversation we had about "delivering industry insights" as opposed to breaking news to the LED and lighting market. As a brand leader, I want to better understand what our audience needs and wants and how LEDs Magazine can continue to deliver on that, from staff-produced content to contributions from subject experts in the industry. Please reach out to me with ideas that intrigue or excite you, individuals that we should speak with, areas where you think the industry may need improvement...there's plenty to talk about. https://lnkd.in/eGjW9V-V
Carrie- so nice to meet you at the speaker reception. I’m always up to talk about the existing building lighting retrofit market. How we go to market is quite different than the new construction architectural specifier universe.
Carrie Meadows, great to catch up with you in NYC, and compare notes on the industry's evolution, and various roles of the trade press. Thank you.
Carrie, thanks for taking the time to speak with us and sharing insights. Even if there were more chairs, I am not sure where we would have put them with all the people around 🙂
Such a privilege to meet you in person! such an incredible time to be working with light 🚀
