As I meditate on how to motivate my clients towards a daily practice of self-awareness, emotional wellness comes to mind. It's an integral part of our overall health, often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of daily life. Emotional wellness is about acknowledging our feelings, understanding them, and effectively managing them. It's about maintaining a positive attitude, high self-esteem, and a strong self-image. This state of balance enables us to build stronger relationships, make better decisions, and live a fulfilling life. Remember, it's not about being happy all the time but rather recognizing that all emotions have a place in our lives. Recognizing why we behave the way we do and react in certain ways begins with discovering aspects of the self. In session, I am often asked why people [other people] act in certain ways. I usually respond, "Let's explore how and why it impacts you negatively." This requires asking oneself some questions. When one can get to the root of their discomfort, the work of emotional wellness can begin. Then, the understanding of others evolves or is less important to your well-being.
