I wish to give some constructive and hopefully useful advice to candidates seeking a new role. 1. What is the Job title? If it says Structural Engineer, it means you must be a Structural Engineer, not something else. 2. Read the job specification and match the required skills to your own. 3. Some roles require a certain level of tenure...... do you match this criteria? If the JD prescribes 15yrs and you have 4yrs, you will not be taken seriously. 4. Follow the instructions prescribed in respect of how to apply Please do not try and convince yourself that you are something or capable of doing things you are neither qualified, licensed or skilled to do/deliver.
