Director- Head of Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury

Thank you to DailyMail.com for coverage about our legal action for healthcare workers who were impacted by Covid-19. https://lnkd.in/eHB4T6vF Two of our clients kindly provided their stories to bring awareness about the effects of Long Covid on them and to bring attention to the legal action that we are bringing on their behalf. Nathalie MacDermott, 42, from Cambridge, a paediatric infectious diseases doctor and Elisabeth Briggs, 48, from Newport, Shropshire, a neuro-rehabilitation physiotherapist both tell of how their lives changed after contracting Covid during the pandemic. Employers have a non-delegable duty to their employees. Some healthcare workers have been left severely disabled or they have suffered a brain injury and have impaired cognitive abilities. Many have become bed-bound for significant periods of time. Many former healthcare workers have no other option than to seek legal redress because they have lost their health, their careers and, in some cases, their homes — and unlike in other countries, there is no official access to compensation. Bond Turner is committed to supporting healthcare workers grappling with the long-term effects of workplace-contracted COVID-19. To join the legal action initiated by healthcare professionals, including nurses, across England and Wales who are suffering from long Covid please follow this link https://lnkd.in/eVNWqCke There are tight deadlines imposed by the Court and we encourage anyone who may have been affected to contact us without The deadline for further health workers to submit their claims to the defendant is 5th July 2024 but our closing date to accept new clients is Friday 17th May 2024. This is to enable us to investigate the merits of each case. Melanie Burden, Holly Seddon Jon Shields
