Career and Technical Education is a versatile educational approach. Whether chosen careers lead students directly into the workforce or to further education, CTE provides the practical skills and knowledge needed for success.

Most public high school students in the United States take at least one CTE course while in high school. CTE courses are an excellent opportunity to expose students to different career paths and allow students to engage in hands-on learning experiences. CATE programs have a profound impact on students’ lives by building self confidence and leadership skills while learning a trade that will make them productive citizens in their communities. Celebrating the Career and Technical education programs in your districts! These are the programs that provide inspiration and spark interest in career pathways. Support your local school’s programs, encourage participation, volunteer to speak with students, attend board of education meetings, speak to your local businesses about sponsoring CTE programs. Unfortunately, these programs are likely the first to get cut in many school districts. It’s budget season, so now is the time to pay attention. High schools offer: Agriculture, Architecture, Construction, Business Management, Education, Finance, Health Science, Hospitality, IT, Manufacturing, Marketing, STEM, and Transportation. Be a champion of CTE!

🍕 Food for thought for Parents of Neurodivergent Teens 🍕 My family is considering a high school that "makes college grads" and I find myself hesitating, because "what if my kids want something besides a typical 4-year college education?". Especially with neurodivergence, my kids are more inclined to create with their hands, want to feel/touch their creations, and/or use their "whole body" in their jobs and passions. Career & Technical Education is something our country gets to change judgment around. Our over-emphasis on "white-collar" jobs needs to go to the wayside. Let's revamp and value ALL aspects that make our world go 'round! #neurodiversity #adhdparenting #adhdartist #jobtraining #CTE #cteworks
