The inevitable 6G question was raised during the Q&A session at the end of my presentation. As normal, I took a deep breath before giving me own perspective on this point. Now I fully understand why the audience of mainly university staff would be interested in this subject but I still do not think that this is healthy for the industry as a whole. Only this morning I got an email about a RCR Wireless webinar to discuss 'Will 6G finally deliver on the promises of 5G?'. Am I alone in thinking this?

This short video from Sean Wargo is really worth watching 👇. Whether you are on the supply side, consumption side (most people), or the management side of commercial AV there is a lot packed into this snippet from Sean. A key takeaway from me is his observation that AV needs to coexist inside a broader data network but fundamentally it is still (and for the long term future will be) geared towards providing an experience to an analogue world i.e. human beings 👨👩👧👦 For those that are in AV as a profession there are more things than ever before to look after to ensure end user human beings get a great experience.
