There's a huge demand to meet the challenges of the future technologies, especially with the dimensions of the devices scaling down. I'm Anjana Devi. I'm a professor and chair of Materials Chemistry at the TU Dresden and Director of Institute for Materials Chemistry at IFW Dresden. So my research focuses on developing nanostructured materials that have technological relevance in the field of electronics, optics, also even energy conversion and storage. And we are actually focusing on developing molecules that are called precursors. These precursors are organometallic compounds that can be used for the deposition of thin films using chemical vapor deposition techniques like atomic layer deposition. These molecules are transformed into thin films, and later on we analyze them for their structure, composition and properties. Once the process is optimized, we scale it on large wafers, and we work together with the engineers to make devices out of it. I want to concentrate in the emerging field of two dimensional materials. While this has a prospect of being explored for future technological applications. In addition, I would like to set up an ALD competence center in Dresden, where we will form a platform for networking and collaboration with scientists and also industry partners within the Dresden concept. I'm very excited and looking forward to collaborating with eminent scientist in the field of chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering. The excellent infrastructure at TU Dresden and IFW Dresden will enable me to carry out my research in an advanced way and realize my dreams of integrating materials for future technological applications.
