☘️ Insights from ISCCM 2024 in Maastricht ☘️ Attending the 10th International Scientific Conference on Cultivated Meat in Maastricht was an enriching and insightful experience. It provided an excellent opportunity to connect with scientists, researchers, and thought leaders from across the globe and engage in deep discussions on the future of cultivated meat. ProFuse Technology was proudly represented at the conference by Meital Nuriel-Ohayon, PhD, Daniel Baumel, PhD, and Dr, Tamar Eigler-Hirsh. During the event, we presented our work on the PROFUSE-B8 a spontaneously immortalized bovine myoblast cell line, that is advancing through key development stages. The immense enthusiasm and interest from attendees – researchers, industry leaders, and innovators – reaffirmed our belief that this innovation will play a significant role in advancing the cultivated meat sector. A key theme that emerged at the conference was the growing focus on muscle differentiation and its critical importance to the future of cultivated meat. This is an area where ProFuse Technology is making a key contribution. Another highlight of the event was the privilege of meeting Prof. Mark Post, the founder of cultivated meat. His vision and leadership continue to shape the future of this industry, and it was an honor to exchange insights with him. The future of cultivated meat is full of exciting opportunities, and ProFuse is proud to be part of the collective effort to create a sustainable future for food production. #CultivatedMeat #FoodTech #Sustainability #InnovationInFood #CellularAgriculture #ISCCM2024 #MuscleDifferentiation #ProFuseTechnology #FutureOfFood #Biotechnology #FoodProduction #MarkPost #CultivatedMeatRevolution #IsraelFoodTech #SustainableFood

One Health - one world, one health Today, we face many critical issues related to health - for people, animals and our ecosystems. The increasing spread of infectious diseases, antibiotic resistance, biodiversity loss and climate change are some of the challenges we face. On the occasion of the international One Health Day on 3 November, we want to highlight a new leaflet about SLU's One Health research - an interdisciplinary concept that gives us a holistic approach to health. Our research and expertise contribute new and important knowledge, both nationally and globally, in areas such as veterinary medicine, agronomy, economics, biology, ecology, water, forestry and social sciences. The brochure is in Swedish but you can find lots of information om SLU's website by searching for One Health.

We have to put nature on our balance sheet Ursula von der Leyen made this statement last week at the DLD Conference in Munich. Leaders from all over the world came together to discuss the transformation in the economy and to look for new ways to reconcile profitability and ecological responsibility. All the important topics that we deal with at Doderm were discussed. I was particularly pleased that Maria Furtwängler addressed the topic of health in her opening speech and the important role played by a balanced microbiome. And Dr. med. Eckart von Hirschhausen brought up this topic again in his conversation with Tina Mueller. They emphasized the importance of a balanced skin microbiome as the smallest form of our body's own biodiversity. 🔬 More than 10 years ago, when we started our initial research work as pioneers, I would never have dreamed that our topic at Doderm GmbH - supporting the skin microbiome for health without antibiotics - would become general health knowledge. One major issue that was discussed at DLD is the fact that our planet is finite and that we cannot continue to grow in the same way as before. This is where entrepreneurs have a responsibility to proactively look for solutions and innovate, which requires a view beyond their own company. ☘ Nature is also one of the most important suppliers for Doderm. Our most important ingredient, an antibody, is obtained from residual streams from the dairy industry. Respectful and responsible cooperation with dairy farmers and joint reflection on measures for more sustainability without economic losses is therefore one of our important topics. 🐴 One of our most important customers is the equine industry. This sector is also undergoing a fundamental transformation that offers great opportunities in terms of biodiversity and sustainability. And our innovation could provide a benefit in this context. Steffi Czerny, thank you for always making DLD a happy place for bright minds. I came back with many new insights and food for thought that help me not to lose sight of the big picture in the day-to-day micromanagement for Doderm's future viability. #health #nature #sustainability #future #responsibility #microbiome #milkantibody #antimicrobialresistance Roman Werner #tum

Follow-up of the 12th meeting of the Innovation Group Digitalisation, 21 May 2024 This week I had the privilege of attending the 12th meeting of the Innovation Group Digitalisation at Swiss Food Research. The event was a rich mix of insightful presentations, in-depth discussions and innovative start-up pitches. Nadim Maamari from CSEM captivated us with a fascinating presentation on 'Multispectral Imaging and Sensing', highlighting the potential of this technology in various fields. Humberto Martinez from Nerité led an engaging discussion on 'Spray-and-pray: How can digital technologies help reduce agricultural emissions? He presented the world's first nitrate tracker and provided inspiring ideas on the use of digital technologies for sustainable agriculture. We also had an insightful presentation on practical experiences with site-specific fertilisation in the canton of Aargau, led by Bernhard Streit (HAFL) and Jakob Strebel (Telnet AG). It was fascinating to hear about the practical aspects of precision farming. The event also included a start-up pitch session focusing on the challenges of data synthesis. Innovative start-ups such as Kora Labs (Luca Corinzia, PhD), Digitsoil, Hoshii and Fruitful AI shared their unique ideas and plans. Many thanks to Swiss Food Research for the invitation. It was inspiring to see first-hand how emerging technologies could revolutionise our world and agriculture in particular. #Innovation #Digitalisation #Collaboration #Agriculture #FutureForward
