LOBA 2024 Shortlist - Lucas Lenci „Inattention Era“
For many people, daily life is defined by a constant sensory overload. The
Brazilian photographer’s series presents bright white but empty LED display
surfaces at public places, which he sees as metaphors for the overwhelming
excess of information, which people are unable to process.

Now open in Shanghai: Allora & Calzadilla’s debut solo show in China sees the Puerto Rico-based artists explore the notion of Gǎnyìng or “sympathetic resonance” – a concept originating in ancient Chinese cosmology also used in contemporary language to signal the everyday entanglement of forces and beings.
The Aeolian Charts series of watercolor works on paper consider the poetic potential inherent in climate modelling and the visualization of global, atmospheric phenomena. Each Chart plots the path of shifting wind movements using methods normally applied to predictive weather forecasting, though with the textual and numerical data replaced here with noteworthy world events from maritime and climatological history in distant time periods and territories. These works are tied together by the artists’ 2020 work Penumbra, a digital shadow animation that recreates the effect of light passing through foliage in the Absalon Valley of Martinique. Projected in the gallery at an angle based on a continuous, real-time simulation of the sun’s location over Shanghai, the animation is complemented by a musical composition by the Grammy-award-winning and Oscar-nominated composer David Lang.

#Art can be very surprising in its form, and by that- very challenging to #digitize. When the geometry is complicated, the colors very important for the art reception, and the whole #sculpture is also glazed... then you need the best of the best device to #3Dscan quickly, efficiently, and in the most detail!
Please enjoy the unique peacock of the Zagajweski, from the #Museum in Włocławek Muzeum Ziemi Kujawskiej i Dobrzyńskiej and was digitized with the best of the best, #MICRON3Dcolor stereo

Shared Cosmogonies
A conversation between Deneb Martos Marcos & Miguel Alfonso Bouhaben
12 January 2024 | Madrid, Spain
«Shared Cosmogonies» (Kosmogonías compartidas) is a collaborative exploration merging painting, cinema, science, and philosophy, focusing on the genesis of constellations and galaxies. Led by image thinker Miguel Alfonso Bouhaben and visual artist Deneb Martos, the project centers on Martos’ work «Cosmogony. Film performance for a planetarium,» using cameraless film techniques on 35mm celluloid with live improvised music by Wade Matthews. The dialogue delves into themes of chaos and order, the visible and invisible, drawing from Hesiod’s Theogony where Chaos signifies both a condition of possibility and the genesis of philosophical inquiry and cinematic expression. «Shared Cosmogonies» challenges disciplinary boundaries, advocating for fluidity, dialogue, and hybridization in knowledge production, weaving together diverse materials and perspectives into a dynamic assemblage that transcends fixed categorizations.
