"Every single one of our machines from 7 tons above is integrated with the Leica MC1. We can move one system into another machine, and it will pick up where it is. The bucket will still be calibrated within the machine and it just works straight away." Listen to the amazing insights from Ben Porteous of Porteous Groundworks Ltd on the 3D machine control solution from Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon. Learn how the solution, combined with the GNSS network correction services, HxGN SmartNet, and the cloud-based collaboration platform, Leica ConX, improves their operations: "The drivers seem to love it. We love it because it makes us a lot more efficient. The days are gone where you dig a foundation, and you have to worry about knocking out the pins and spraying up the lines." Last but not least, Ben and Peter Haddock speak about the integration of Xwatch Safety Solutions part of Hexagon, as safety remains a top priority on-site. I get itchy when folks treat "control" as some sort of magical totem that equals PERFECTION. Laser Scanning workflows benefit from survey control, 100%. But simply stating "scan using control" or "always use control" misses the means and methods of the control methodology that need to be present. Personally, I've had a project with the surveyor didn't log their prism constants, and shot my LIDAR targets with either a 0 offset, or a 30mm offset. The only way to figure out which shots were incorrect was guess and check. I ended up throwing out the entire control network and starting over with a new surveyor. What is the quality of your control? Set using an RTS? How many station setups did it take to traverse into the scanning area? What were the surveyors residuals on their station setups, residuals on the backsights? Was it even set by competent operator? Loop Closure, or dead end shots? Elevations established Digital Level? When was the last time any of the equipment was calibrated? When was the last time the rod was checked for level? Fundamentally, sacrificing accuracy or additional self-calibration for field expediency makes me nervous, but that might just be a me problem.
Calling all Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon #RTC360 users! How are you using the High Tilt Accuracy feature on your scanner? I feel like everyone I talk to has a different philosophy on how it "should be used." I have heard the following: - Only use it on the first scan - Use it on the first few scans - Use it on scans towards the center of your project only - Use it on scans spread out throughout the site - Use it on every scan - You don't need to use it Comment below! I would love to hear what people are doing with it... #laserscanning #3dlaserscanning #realitycapture

Distance Calculation between two Bounding Boxes using Ultralytics YOLOv8 🚀 • The process of determining the separation between two objects is referred to as distance calculation within a defined space. In the context of Ultralytics YOLOv8, the distance for bounding boxes highlighted by the user is computed using the centroid of the bounding box. 🎛 One of the challenges with machine vision cameras is adjusting parameters during acquisition, often requiring a stop-start process that slows down inspections of fast-moving objects. 🔄 The Sequencer function solves this problem. This powerful feature lets you define a series of parameter sets that activate in sequence, allowing real-time adjustments without halting the camera. 📹 When paired with our ITALA G. EL camera, the Sequencer can even control the liquid lens, dynamically changing focus during image capture. ✅ Join our FREE webinar to explore the advantages of the Sequencer function with real-world application examples 👉 https://lnkd.in/dQWyDQYY
