Various government space agencies and private space companies are investing in technologies that will help humanity push forward the Moon exploration. The commencement of the lunar exploration is dated back to the 1950s. Luna 1, the first spacecraft to fly by the Moon, was launched in 1959 followed by the Luna 9 which achieved the first soft landing in 1966. Afterward, various lunar landers and orbiters missions have been developed and launched to the Moon. For many years, efforts are been made to develop lunar gas stations in lunar orbit or on the lunar surface. This is to aid deep space exploration. Research findings show that refueling near the moon would allow for humans to get to Mars much more efficiently than launching from Earth with all the resources onboard. Various companies are planning, researching, and investing in the establishment of lunar fueling stations. The lunar fueling stations are to be used for refueling spacecraft and to support people that will be living in space within the next 30 years. Examples of lunar space gas station companies are Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Cislune, Shackleton Energy Company, The Moon Express, and a host of others. The Space Launch System (SLS) rocket booster segments for the Artemis II mission have arrived at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This marks a major milestone in the mission, which will be the first crewed mission to the Moon since 1972. The booster segments will be used to power the SLS rocket, which will be the most powerful rocket ever built. The booster segments will be integrated with the core stage of the rocket, and the entire system was set to be tested before the mission launches in 2021. Update: Long March 6A upper stage fragmentation from Nov 2022. Next month will mark one year since the fragmentation of the Long March 6A (CZ-6A) upper stage, which occurred soon after payload (satellite) release on 12 Nov 2022. How have things evolved? U.S. Space Command (18 SDS) has now cataloged 787 #SpaceDebris from this event, with <10% having decayed from this relatively high-altitude event. (No, your eyes aren't fooling you - the "crewed apogee/perigee" altitudes also dynamically change in this Gabbard plot to reflect orbit changes in the Chinese Space Station and International Space Station). #LongTermSustainability
