For our annual volunteer day this year, 36 dedicated Knopman Marks Financial Training volunteers spent a total of 108 hours removing invasive plant species from the Riverside Park South Slopes. Our efforts resulted in 22 leaf bags filled with invasive plants for our compost compound, significantly promoting pollination and biodiversity in the area. Working with the Riverside Park Conservancy is always a pleasure – the team there is thoughtful, organized, and communicative about the role we play in making an impact. We always look forward to contributing to the beautification of our amazing city through this collaboration. Introduce yourself, ask about their roles, and express your eagerness to contribute to the team. 💡 Be Open-minded: Approach your tasks with an open mind and a willingness to learn. You might encounter new concepts or processes that differ from what you're used to, so embrace the opportunity to broaden your skills. 💡 Ask Questions: Don't hesitate to ask questions if you're unsure about something. It's better to seek clarification than make mistakes later. 💡 Stay Organized: Keep track of important information, such as login credentials, schedules, and project details. We recently celebrated “Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day,” and it was a refreshing reminder of the magic our workplace holds, seen through our children’s eyes. We kicked off the day with a welcome filled with donuts and icebreakers that had both kids and parents laughing together. Our team did an amazing job fielding endless questions from curious young minds and giving them a tour of the office. It was a day of fun where we got to bridge the gap between work and family. I was proud to share my world with my girls and, who knows, maybe it sparked their curiosity about what they might want to pursue in the future. Thanks to everyone who participated and made this day memorable, it was a special day for me. My digital clutter can accumulate just as quickly as the physical one. These personal strategies have both elevated my productivity and significantly eased my digital overwhelm: 1. 📧 Inbox Cleanout: Once a month, I dedicate time to sweep through my emails and delete what’s no longer needed, unsubscribe from newsletters that no longer serve me, and make sure everything is followed up on. 2. 📱Text Messages: I’ve learned from personal experience how easy it is to miss important text messages. My game-changer strategy? Deleting messages as soon as I’ve responded to ensure I act on what’s asked of me. 3. 📁 Quarterly Reorganization: We all have them – folders labeled “to read” or “to do” that we rarely visit. I sift through these piles once a quarter, eliminating what no longer interests me or what I’ve already consumed. This past weekend, I embarked on a mission to declutter the infamous junk drawer - that one drawer that becomes a home to everything from spare batteries to forgotten coupons. I involved the entire family in the process, and here’s why it turned into one of our favorite activities: 1. Discovery Time: We found so many items we thought were lost forever! It was like a treasure hunt in our own home. 2. Learning Moment: It provided a great opportunity to teach the kids about organization, the importance of keeping only what we need, and the joy of finding homes for our belongings. 3. Family Bonding: Believe it or not, sorting through miscellaneous cords and old receipts sparked conversations and laughter, turning a mundane task into quality time spent together. The outcome? The kids absolutely loved the process! Not only did we clear out physical clutter, but we also created a system that everyone in the family understands and contributes to maintaining. Tackling junk drawers might seem overwhelming but is truly rewarding. Once you start doing it and creating a pattern for yourself it becomes easy.
