Yet, it permeates our atmosphere, posing a grave threat to our health. The potential repercussions are serious, leading to heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases. The present visualization illustrates the average PM2.5 concentrations in major global cities worldwide in 2022. Have a look at this map. Is your city among the most polluted ones? Air pollution exposure is associated with oxidative stress and inflammation in human cells, which may lay a foundation for chronic diseases and cancer. In 2013, the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization (WHO) classified air pollution as a human carcinogen. Mortality rates related to air pollution are a concern. Exposure to the air pollutant PM2.5 is associated with an increased risk of death. The study data covered 21 years. More specifically, they found exposure to PM2.5 from coal was associated with a mortality risk that was twice as high as the risk from exposure to PM2.5 from all sources. PM2.5 from coal is high in sulfur dioxide, black carbon, and metals. Public health concerns include cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory diseases, diabetes mellitus, obesity, and reproductive, neurological, and immune system disorders. #mevachi_solutions #airpollution #pollution #environment #climatechange #cleanair #airquality #nature #india #savetheplanet #pollutionfree #savewater #gogreen #covid #delhipollution #delhiair #delhiemergency #indiapollution #toxicdelhiair #savetheplanet #health #polluted #pollutedenvironment #savetheearth #eco #climate #climateaction #climateemergency #airqualityindex #airpurification #breathe

On #WorldAsthmaDay, a new study shows the type of stove you have is the biggest predictor of how much nitrogen dioxide you’ll be exposed to in your home, and the more often you cook with gas or propane, the more NO2 you’re exposed to. Too much NO2 exposure leads to health problems, such as asthma, heart disease, and premature birth. Learn more about why we must move towards cleaner, electric cooking alternatives: https://lnkd.in/gNURNu5g
People with gas and propane stoves breathe more unhealthy nitrogen dioxide

W E Q U A N T U M C O 2 Almost the entire global population (99%) breathes air that exceeds WHO air quality limits, and threatens their health. A record number of over 6000 cities in 117 countries are now monitoring air quality, but the people living in them are still breathing unhealthy levels of fine particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide, with people in low and middle-income countries suffering the highest exposures. #quantumphysicstechnology #quantumfission #directaircarboncapture #releasesoxygen2atmosphere #restoringoxygenlevels

🌍 Europe's Heatwave Reality: A Call for Action 🌡️ 2023 marked Europe’s second warmest year ever, with heat-related mortality reaching over 47,000. But here's the silver lining: without the adaptation measures implemented since 2000, that number could have been 80% higher. Our progress in public health, early warning systems, and heat action plans have saved lives, especially among the most vulnerable. However, as temperatures continue to rise, we must urgently enhance our adaptation strategies and ramp up mitigation efforts. The time to act is now – before we reach critical thresholds. ✍ : https://lnkd.in/dTgcJhhu #ClimateChange #PublicHealth #Adaptation #Sustainability

🚩 Did you know that fossil fuels are harming your health? Gas – a type of fossil fuel – very likely powers heating and stoves in homes. Because many of us are breathing in its pollutants every day, it can cause and worsen an array of serious health issues, from asthma to heart disease. Here’s the good news: we know the solution. Moving away from gas in EU cities can improve health, save lives, and create jobs for many. Learn more about the cost of fossil gas and how it can impact your health ⬇ https://c40.me/3Pl8lOb #FossilFuels #UnitedInAction
