𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 – What are you grateful for today? I know way back when before my coaching diploma, I cringed when someone asked me that question!
I think I (maybe you?) was caught up in a negativity bias, lingering on bad news or unpleasant experiences, hence letting moments of positivity fade into the background.
It was hard work, in the beginning, to consistently show gratitude, it was surprisingly difficult. Fortunately, gratitude is like a muscle that you can build. With the right exercises and practice, you can find at least something small to appreciate on even the bleakest of days.
Sounds super cheesy right, but finding gratitude in your personal place and place of work has incredible benefits. It uplifts your mood, fosters stronger relationships, and changes the way you see yourself and others.
I am 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 the team at VetStaff (see what I did there 😉) shows gratefulness every morning, it sets our day up positively.
Maybe this is something you as a team leader could explore with your team? How is your work environment? Is it a place you wake up excited about going to Monday mornings? Or is it a place you dread the thought of come Monday morning?

REVIVE YOUR DRIVE in MINDFUL MAY: Here at VetStaff, we start off all our meetings - yes! even those when there are just two of us - with sharing something we're grateful for. Why? Because I know it's good for the brain. It's also about looking for (at least) something that's good in our lives. It also creates a bit of a "pause", a moment to "collect" before the meeting kicks off.
One thing I am very (very!) grateful for is the amazing team of women I have the privilege and honour of working with everyday:
