In this times of economic hardships but increase information, do we need to be burden by 'school fees'? If we can free up the cost of school fees, our buying power will increase and we can increase consumption in other sectors of the economy thus growing the economy. In this link here https://lnkd.in/grSXZJ4q is my article on the need to re-look education expectations in PNG which is in alignment with Dr. Kevin Soli's post.
Rethinking Education (School Systems) We voice concerns on our current education system and ..still using it? ..still paying for it? ..still talking about it? Traditional schools aren't the only path to success. We have to look beyond! Imagine a system where your child's education is not just about filling their heads with facts, but about: - sparking their curiosity, - igniting their interests and - cultivating their passion ... to thrive in a changing world. ..................................................... Sport and play are absolutely crucial for kids' development, and COVID-19 funding is drying up for these activties. Read this important op-ed from our longtime client Urban Initiatives in the Chicago Sun-Times to learn why this matters: https://lnkd.in/gRjVCN3P In short, programs that some people undervalue are in peril. Academic learning is of course the north star, we all need to step up to ensure kids get play, too. The last two paragraphs are powerful. Bravo, Jim Dower.

Valerie Adams-Bass, Nancy Deutsch & colleagues, can help on "How Equity-Minded School Districts Run Afterschool and Summer Programs." What is equity? Dr. Adams-Bass says "We define equity as ensuring that every person has access to what they need to thrive. This is different from ensuring that every person has equal access to resources.
