Every day we are looking forward to walking into Flynn Head Quarter where we enjoy every moments of the office life. It's the wonderful works of the Flynn management team to create a perfect physical and cultural environment that people want to stay. From the parking lot, we walk thru the path with trees that kind of decompress us prior to entering the door. Inside the building, there is a well live 30 ft tall tree reaching towards a beautifully decorated bronzed surrounding skylight. This mood changing view is really one of a kind. The entire office space have 40ft ceiling high, give us a feeling of stress relieved, soaring expansion. There is a fully equip gym facility that anyone can go in for fitness, yoga, pilate with instructors included. There is a professional restaurant inside the office that makes fresh excellent breakfast and tasty lunch at 1990 prices, lunch meal for $7. It is a great time to bring your kids to work sometimes, no need to bring food, elevated experience for both. There are 2 unlimited, all you can drink coffee / tea / filtered water stations at two ends of the building. Occasionally there are free food / snacks organized by the HR team for events in the grand cafeteria and everyone is invited, swing by for a muffin, quick chat with peers, happy coming, happy leaving. Before, in the 2018 times, on Friday, there were free fresh fruit baskets for all. The bathroom facility is absolutely second to none. Dyson touchless faucet with air dry is nice. Hotel quality. Those are just a few notes on the physical side. I can go on for at least 20 more items but I would like to zoom into the intangible aspect, which it is even more enormous, a real hallmark from the current Executive Team. When I came into Flynn Facades in 2017, the company rolled out the Flynn Leadership Promise to everyone at all levels. We all know how a bad leader can have detrimental effects on employees and ultimately the business. Flynn chose to elevate this weakness by 6 Promises, that leaders vow to live by in daily activities. Each of us is a leader in some manner / relevant capacity. The Promises are: 1. To be an authentic leader that people want to collaborate 2. To lead by example. 3. To be reliable, consistent and approachable. 4. Present in the moment and communicate effectively. 5. Team player and develope other team members. 6. Keep the big picture in mind. In short, understanding SWOT, lead others as a human. Most of us have a portrait with these 6 Promises listed, our name and signature below. Every year at Christmas time, kids are eager to pick up presents. This post is approaching 3000 word limit. More intangible cultural details will flow in the next post. It is all the splendid works of the master minds of Doug Flynn, John McManus, and many other great minds at Flynn.
