Well base rim A wheel rim with a central channel or recess into which one side of the tire bead can drop; the other side can then be forced over the rim for fitting or removal. Wheels with well-base rims are commonly used on passenger cars because they enable easy installation and removal of the tire; the seats of the rim on which the tire sits (rim flanges) have a 5° taper so that, as the tire is inflated, the beads are forced up the taper to give a wedge fit and a good seal for tubeless tires; safety bead seats must also be incorporated, however.

Checking outer tie rods is an essential part of ensuring your vehicle's steering system is in good condition. Here's a simple guide to checking outter tie rods: Start by parking your vehicle on a flat surface and turning off the engine. Then, visually inspect the outer tie rods, which connect the steering rack to the steering knuckle. Look for any signs of damage, such as bends, cracks, or excessive rust. Next, grab hold of the outer tie rod with your hand and try to move it back and forth. There should be minimal to no play or movement. If you notice any significant looseness or play, it could indicate worn tie rod ends, which will need to be replaced. Additionally, you can perform a visual inspection of the tie rod boots, which cover the tie rod ends. Ensure they are intact and free from tears or cracks, as damaged boots can allow contaminants to enter the tie rod assembly, leading to premature wear. We have been using the TRW brand of tie rods, both inner and outter for years in the garage as they have been proven to be reliable for our clients. For more TRW details visit Ebay, Amazon, or your local auto parts supplier. Follow Francisco Moreno of ZF Group for in-depth technical training classes for your automotive service operations .
