It is #PrideMonth, and at #LEOPharma, we are ringing it in with 'Pride Every Day' 🌈
The theme 'Pride Every Day' reflects our collective belief that support for the #LGBTQ+ Community extends beyond June as a year-round commitment. It is, in fact, integrated in our everyday conduct, fostering a workplace culture that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusion and encourages allyship.
LEO Pharma stands in support of the LGBTQ+ community, respecting the values that Pride represents and creating a more inclusive environment.
To honor and celebrate the vibrant spirit of this month, we have planned a series of internal events and initiatives that will keep the momentum going throughout the year – with stories and reflections to inspire us beyond June!

🌟🌈 Celebrating Pride Every Day 🌈🌟
As we embrace the vibrant colors of Pride Month, let's take a moment to reflect on the importance of fostering a diverse and inclusive culture, not just during this month, but every day. 🙌
Why is this important? Because when individuals feel safe and accepted, they can bring their whole selves to work, unlock their full potential and take innovation to a whole new level 🚀 By embracing diversity, we embrace different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, which leads to more creative problem-solving and better decision-making.
For true impact, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture goes beyond simply ticking boxes. It requires ongoing commitment and a collective effort. At LEO Pharma I see this play out in different ways:
✅ Bringing awareness: We are offered diversity and inclusion training, incl. on how to identify and work with your unconscious biases.
✅ Facing the facts: We have started to actively source and discuss data on team diversity across the organization with metrics that go beyond standard gender diversity
✅ Embracing dialogue: The tone is set from the top to promote an open and transparent dialogue on diversity and inclusion, most recently with Christophe Bourdon sharing his own personal story at our global townhall
As we celebrate Pride Month, let's remember that inclusivity is not a one-time event but an ongoing commitment. It's about creating a culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued for who they are.
Happy Pride Month, everyone! Let's make Pride every day! 🌈

Although there is always an opportunity to be reminded of the diversity we are surrounded by, Pride Month is a time to pay special attention to the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community and highlight the importance of fostering an inclusive environment in the workplace.
I've been pleased to hear testimonials from colleagues at Teva Pharmaceuticals, sharing that they feel they can be themselves and are supported by their peers. It was brave of them to step up and publicly talk about their experience with other employees. Unfortunately, we know this isn’t always possible everywhere. In order to build a more supportive environment, we can start by challenging our own biases and considering different perspectives. These tips for building meaningful connections with co-workers are especially useful when it comes to understanding diversity.
When was the last time you had a meaningful conversation with someone who was different to you, and tried to understand their perspective?

Pride Month serves as a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights and issues, and promote inclusivity and acceptance. However, the celebration of Pride Month also sheds light on how healthcare intersects with the LGBTQ+ community.
In healthcare, Pride Month serves as a reminder of the disparities and challenges that LGBTQ+ individuals face when seeking medical care. Discrimination, lack of understanding, and limited access to LGBTQ+-inclusive services can all impact the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ patients.
As healthcare providers, it is crucial to use Pride Month as a platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ health equity. This includes improving cultural competency, providing LGBTQ+-inclusive care, and advocating for policy changes that promote equality and inclusivity in healthcare settings.
By recognizing the purpose of Pride Month and its intersection with healthcare, we can work towards creating a healthcare system that is truly inclusive and affirming for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Let's continue to celebrate Pride Month while also striving to improve healthcare access and outcomes for the LGBTQ+ community.
This #WomensHistoryMonth, let's shine a light on the unique health challenges faced by #LGBTQ+ #women.
From navigating discriminatory healthcare systems to facing stigma and barriers in accessing reproductive and sexual health services, LGBTQ+ women often encounter challenges that are overlooked or misunderstood.
It's crucial to create safe, inclusive spaces where all women, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can access the care they need. Let's raise awareness, advocate for LGBTQ+ healthcare rights, and ensure that no woman is left behind.
Know of organizations providing support? Drop their links! Let's work together to promote inclusivity and equitable healthcare for all LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Together, we can address these challenges and work towards a future where every woman's health needs are met with dignity and respect.

#PrideMonth, the worldwide celebration of #LGBTQ+ culture and rights, kicked off on June 1st with events around the globe.
By prioritizing diversity and inclusion and implementing affirming practices for capturing SOGI data, we can work towards reducing health disparities and ensuring that LGBTQ+ cancer patients receive the care and support they deserve.
A recent study published in JCO Oncology Practice assessed the routine collection of sexual orientation (SO) and gender identity (GI) data in cancer clinics to enhance equity in cancer care. The study determined the proportions of groups collecting SO and/or GI data and examined the characteristics of these groups for any associations.
