Success in Teleporting Light and Its First Solidification: Moving Faster Than the Speed of Light Teleportation has always been one of those activities reserved only for futuristic stories in movies. However, this incredible idea has recently become possible with the discovery of quantum physics. Researchers from the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) in Barcelona have achieved a groundbreaking feat: the prospect of sending photons carrying information from one place to another, transforming them into a material state of a qubit. Notably, the ICFO team managed to teleport quantum information over a distance of 1 km, showcasing the potential and possibilities of this method for enhancing quantum communication. I am pleased to announce our recent collaboration with the esteemed Prof. Zahid Hasan group at #Princeton University's Laboratory for Topological Quantum Matter. Our joint effort has led to a remarkable discovery, detailed in the prestigious #Nature Journal, unveiling an unprecedented form of topological quantum behavior within elemental solid crystals composed of arsenic (As) atoms. Termed as "hybrid topology," this newly identified quantum state showcases a fusion of edge and surface states within arsenic crystals, presenting a paradigm-shifting revelation in quantum phenomena.
