    When Tracy Dixon-Salazar’s daughter, Savannah, first had a seizure, she didn’t know what it was. It became hundreds of seizures every day and doctors couldn’t tell her family why. As any parent would, Tracy had questions. She took matters into her own hands. She returned to school and earned her Ph.D., becoming a neuroscientist, geneticist, and patient advocate. During her research tenure, and after 16 years of watching daily, unrelenting seizures in her child, she uncovered the driver of her daughter’s illness and identified a novel precision therapy that improved her child’s life, effectively reducing the number of seizures. This is the true power of a mother’s love!
