When you need to "Drop the 1st", how much control do you have over the shape of your Morton's Extension? When do you Reverse it? Using #LeoInsole, it's quite easy to add a standard or reverse extension, change the angle, mirror to the contralateral device, and add patterning to reduce weight. Another win is by adding a logo to improve #branding, and text for device tracking or patient identification. #3Dprinting #orthotics #podiatry #CAD #digialdesign

3D scanning is a technology used to create a digital representation of a physical object in three dimensions. It works by capturing the shape, size, and texture of an object using various techniques such as laser scanning, structured light scanning, or photogrammetry. Structured light scanning uses projected patterns of light onto the object and analyzes how these patterns deform on the surface. By capturing the deformations, the scanner can determine the shape of the object. Photogrammetry involves taking multiple photographs of an object from different angles and using software to analyze the images and reconstruct the 3D geometry based on the positions and orientations of common points in the images. In-house 3D-printed aligners: effect of in vivo ageing on mechanical properties Objective: To investigate alterations in the mechanical properties of in-house three-dimensional (3D) printed orthodontic aligners after intraoral ageing. Materials and methods: Sixteen 3D-printed aligners (TC-85DAC resin, Graphy, Seoul, Korea) were used for the purpose of the study, which were divided into 10 control (not used) aligners and 6 materials retrieved from 4 patients after 1-week service (retrieved group)… https://lnkd.in/gmdiGyHa #orthodontics #3dprint #graphy #directprintaligner #shapememoryaligner #mikegordon #paulwilkens #3dna #3dnadental

What makes a limb part of your body? Prosthetic embodiment, or the incorporation of a prosthesis into one’s sensory and functional body schema, may be achieved by engineering bionic limbs that leverage a closed-loop mechanoneural–machine interface. However, the subjective experience of embodiment remains difficult to define and assess. In our new Editorial, we examine how the boundaries of embodiment may be determined by how we experience our bodies as sites of agency and ownership, and what this means for the design of bionic limbs: https://lnkd.in/eg3KQDN7

We’ve just updated our Page. Visit Big Idea: "Revolutionizing Lives Through Motion" Allow Motion isn't just about prosthetics; it's a transformative journey. We believe in enabling more than mobility; we're crafting a prosthesis that becomes a catalyst for resetting lives in motion. Imagine a world where amputees don't just walk; they dance, run, and embrace life's every possibility. Our big idea is simple yet profound: 'Revolutionizing Lives Through Motion.' Allow Motion isn't merely a prosthetic; it's a symbol of empowerment, resilience, and the unwavering spirit to redefine what's possible. It's not about replacing what's lost; it's about restoring the rhythm of life. Imagine a life where limitations are redefined, and every step is a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Allow Motion is the bridge between what was and what can be. It's not just a product; it's an idea that transforms the narrative around prosthetics. We're not just restoring motion; we're allowing lives to reset, rejuvenate, and revel in the joy of motion. With Allow Motion, it's not about the prosthetic; it's about the poetry of motion, the symphony of progress, and the dance of resilience. Join us in this movement – the Allow Motion movement – where we reset lives in motion, one step at a time.our Page to see the latest updates.

#maxillofacialprosthetics can be made to protect facial structures through bolstered pressure application of the skin after trauma and burns to preserve contours and prevent hypertrophic scarring. However, fabrication procedures for #facialorthoses can be cumbersome for patients and technique-sensitive, thus limiting access to this useful device. The latest issue of #theJPD highlights this article that compares different #digitalworkflows using various types of #3dfacialscans, #CAD, and #3dprinting approaches and the quality of the resulting prostheses: https://lnkd.in/dYtqB88n
