EDSE - for ‘Boat Sampling’ Electric Discharge Sampling Equipment (EDSE) was developed in Japan by KMTL and further modified by ETD, building various types of mounting frames for cutting samples from difficult-to-reach places in metallic structures. Here are the general steps for 11kV HT (High-Teperature) cable jointing: 1. Preparation: - Ensure proper safety gear and training - Gather necessary tools and materials (e.g., jointing kits, heat shrink tubes, etc.) - Verify cable specifications and jointing instructions 2. Cable Preparation: - Clean and strip the cable ends - Remove any insulation or sheathing - Trim the conductors to the correct length 3. Jointing: - Apply jointing compound or tape to the conductors - Assemble the jointing kit (e.g., sleeves, adapters, etc.) - Connect the conductors, ensuring proper torque and alignment 4. Insulation and Sheathing: - Apply heat shrink tubes or insulation to the joint - Ensure proper coverage and sealing 5. Testing and Verification: - Perform electrical tests (e.g., megger, hipot, etc.) - Verify joint integrity and cable performance 6.
