Les Dames d'Escoffier South Florida Chapter’s Post

During the weekend, the Dames of LDEI SoFL gathered at the renowned Rum Room in Miami Beach for an unforgettable experience of delectable cuisine and rum tasting. The first rum was a light blend with captivating tones of grapefruit and cinnamon, handcrafted at St. Augustine Distillery -- in the nation's (and Florida's) oldest city. Next, we indulged in the Papa's Pilar Flagship Dark rum from Key West. The Rum Room's talented mixologist, Anton, showed us the rooster emblem adorning the Pilar bottle, a nod to Key West's roosters, and the bottle's top featured a beautifully embossed compass. We were delighted by its harmonious tones of cherry and cinnamon. To cleanse our palates, we had triangles of pineapple lightly dusted with cinnamon and dipped in honey. Thank you to the talented Ismael Laselle, Executive Chef at the Miami Beach Convention Center, whose culinary artistry created a delectable lunch for the day. We also extend our deepest gratitude to The Rum Room for graciously hosting us, Anton, their mixologist, for enlightening and guiding us through this rum tasting, and to all the Dames and guests who joined us at this memorable gathering. Lastly, we thank the generous contributors of our Raffle, which was filled with wines, beverages, a cheese-tasting platter, a coffee table book, and even cigars. Everyone was a winner! #LesDamesSoFL #RumTasting
