Tailor your training to fit YOU. Just like pro athletes, your fitness plan should be unique to you. You have your own goals and abilities, and any training you do should be SPECIFIC and INTENTIONAL towards the achievement of those goals. Yes, a generic program may work. If you are experienced, you may get a lot out of some high level programing, but overall, template programs will either fall short or be too advanced to cause effective adaptation. I am curious to hear what you all think. This is one of the BIGGEST MISTAKES I see as a trainer... People do 10 reps becuase they were told to do 10 reps. No. You should do 10 reps if that’s what’s “appropriately challenging for you.” If you do 10 reps but you could have done 16 reps, you’re not going to get much benefit from that set. If you do 10 reps because you were close to failure, then that’s good. We’ll talk a lot about this in the next Virtual 10-Week Transformation. If you’re not seeing results with your fitness, it’s probably because your weight selection and your rep counts are not intentional. Not anymore!
