What is the best formula for average views? When it comes to pricing for video based creators, I've found that different brands, creators, and managers take very different approaches to calculating viewership. Here are a handful I've come across: - Average Last 12 Videos - Average Last 6 Videos > 1 Month Old - Average Last 50 Videos - Average Last 15 Minus the Highest and Lowest Video - Eyeball the rough average across a few months.. Surely there is a subjective component to this but at the end of the day we are talking numbers. And these numbers not only play a big role in pricing but also influence performance. So we cannot get it wrong! Some of the risks I've identified in traditional approaches (often through creator tools) are different sizes of creators and upload frequency. If a creator uploads one video per month, an average of the last 12 videos will likely give you an inaccurate assessment of their current audience. If a creator's viewership varies from 1M Views to 50K views and uploads 5 days a week, an average number may not be helpful at all! It would likely be better for all parties to negotiate a performance based deal when it comes to sponsorship. What is your approach to average views?
