Quality Checking Options👕 Just a simple fit test for a corporate t-shirt done for the Coats Thread Lanka. Based on customer budget there are different QC levels to choose from starting from general QC up to even 30% QC where needed. Custom orders are not like regular ready-made t-shirts available in retail stores which are easier to manage in terms of production. Here’s the reason. Ready-made garments: ◽ Add up the cost for removed garments from the Quality Testing to the remaining batch of decent quality garments and the customer pays for QC-rejected garments as well ◽ Are not done in a hurry and have enough time for product development ◽ Have time for multiple pre-samples to adjust the errors in the specification ◽ Have only a handful of different specifications for the entire year and repeated batches of the same garment ◽ Have bulk volumes such as at least 1000 pieces for each unique specification to reduce the cost ◽ Require zero or limited customization as per each end user buyer’s request which drastically cuts down on the cost required for material sourcing and production planning For custom clothing, you now know the situation is completely different. And that is why we have introduced different QC options 📏 #customtshirts #coporatebrandedtshirts #qualitychecking #QC #QClevels

What Is Garment Inspection and Why Is It Essential? 🧵✔️ Garment inspection is an essential quality control process in apparel manufacturing, ensuring that each garment meets the highest standards of quality and consistency. Throughout various stages of production, this process involves a detailed examination of garments to detect and address any potential issues early on, such as stitching flaws, fabric defects, or sizing inconsistencies. 🔍👗 By carefully inspecting garments, manufacturers maintain uniformity and compliance with industry regulations, which enhances the overall value and reliability of the final product. This level of attention ensures that customers receive clothing items that not only meet but exceed their expectations in terms of quality and durability. 🌟👕 #GarmentInspection #QualityControl #ApparelManufacturing #ProductConsistency #CustomerSatisfaction #IndustryStandards #AttentionToDetail #HighQuality #FashionIndustry #ManufacturingExcellence

Often I see this system being abused by the brand. Trying to link this to the garment AQL system. The 4 point system was mainly used in tailoring where expensive fabrics are used. Recently athletic brands started to introduce this to their supply chain in a half baked way. The 4 point system and the AQL for finished goods were never designed to go together. Mills who follow the proper 4 point system often get penilised by brands and makers as the garment maker just lays the fabric and cuts without using the 4 point system worksheets which pinpoint the fault, give an allowance and mark with attached tags. Makers that I saw in sports industry cut these tags off before resting, then claim against the mill which has already given an allowance. I am 100% for the four point system if used correctly and followed correctly by the makers and brands. It should also be reminded cheaper fabrics don’t require all this attention.
The quality of a finished item in the apparel industry mostly depends on the quality of fabric when it is collected as a roll from mills. Even it occupies 60/70 percent of total garments cost. Apparel industry should take some defensive actions to ensure the quality fabric is only being used in their items and set up fabric inspection department with modern equipment and skilled manpower. It is expected that a Garments Producer to inspect minimum 10% per color or more of any consignment when they got and assess them based on a four-point system. By this process, they can minimize fabric related quality troubles before it moved to production. Four-Point System, a standard established under ASTM D5430 – 07(2011), is a standardized Test Methods for fabric Visually Inspecting and Grading. The final purpose is to find out the defects of the fabric in per 100 square yards.#sixdragontextile #polyesterfabric #cottonfabric #rayonfabric #polyestercottonfabric #denimfabric #yarndyedfabric #fabric #textile #wovenfabric

Denim Garment Manufacturing: From FID to Production This LinkedIn post provides a comprehensive overview of the initial stage of denim garment manufacturing, emphasizing the importance of fabric inspection and shrinkage testing Our previous post was about the sampling department. Before moving any garment into the production department (making garments in bulk quantity), The first department is FID (Fabric Inspection Department). I will make a post about the workings of each department, starting with FID. All fabric is received by the fabric department, ordered by the marketing department. Now, a question arises: what is the function of the FID department? Why don't we go directly to cutting the fabric using markers? As the name suggests, the FID department is responsible for inspecting the fabric. The first task is to check the shrinkage. Although the shrinkage is mentioned by the supplier, we need to reconfirm the details. So, what is shrinkage, how do we calculate it, and why is it necessary? These are common questions asked during interviews for hiring in the FID department. The attached picture provides some hints on how to check fabric shrinkage. I look forward to everyone's constructive responses. #DenimManufacturing #FabricInspection #Shrinkage #QualityControl #FID #GarmentProduction #TextileIndustry #alizia051
