Continuing with the series... "The Lens of an Intern" As a marketing intern at Yocket, I am learning copywriting as part of the job. Using that knowledge created a creative piece for my favorite watch brand Cartier. If you notice there are no hour or minute hands on the watch just to signify the copy "Timeless Designs". What do you think about it? Let me know in the comment section. #copywriting #marketing #luxury #watches

The phrase ‘the pen is mightier than the sword’ may have best glorified the power of journalism, but the phrase applies to copywriting as well; there are just different kinds of swords. Copywriting has the power to change the world in several significant ways like: Inspired Action Well-crafted copy has the ability to inspire people to take action for the better. Whether it's making a purchase, signing a petition, or joining a movement, compelling copywriting motivates individuals to make meaningful changes in their lives, and eventually the world. Spreading Awareness Compelling narratives can raise significant awareness about important issues and causes. By crafting messages that resonate with audiences, copywriters can shine a spotlight on social injustices, environmental issues, and other pressing concerns, sparking conversations and driving positive change. Building Connections Effective copywriting builds connections between brands and consumers, organizations and supporters, and other stakeholders. It brings individuals with shared values together. By telling authentic stories and fostering genuine relationships, copywriters can cultivate trust and loyalty, ultimately strengthening communities and driving collective action. Educative Information Copywriting can educate and inform audiences about complex topics in a clear and accessible manner. Whether it's breaking down scientific concepts, explaining policy changes, or providing practical tips, well-written copy has the power to empower individuals with knowledge and understanding. Challenging Perspectives Good copywriting can challenge conventional wisdom and encourage critical thinking. By presenting alternative viewpoints and thought-provoking ideas, copywriters can spark dialogue, promote empathy, and inspire positive change in attitudes and behaviors, locally, regionally, and then globally. Celebration of Diversity Impactful copywriting celebrates diversity and amplifies marginalized voices. By ensuring that messaging is inclusive and representative of diverse perspectives and experiences, copywriters can contribute to a more equitable and inclusive society. Overall, good copywriting is a powerful tool for communication and persuasion. When used thoughtfully and responsibly, it can be a force for positive change, shaping attitudes, behaviors, and perceptions on a global scale.

The Great Pretender: when "Copywriting" is no longer about writing Copy In an era dominated by digital media, the essence of copywriting has undergone a profound transformation. Traditionally, a copywriter's role blended creative flair with strategic communication. However, today's market demands are pivoting towards purely digital competencies, reshaping the copywriter into more of a 'digital foot soldier' than a creator of compelling narratives. As businesses strive to cut costs and chase the latest trends, they overwhelmingly favor social media over traditional media outlets such as print, TV, radio, and outdoor advertising. This shift is not just a change in channels but a fundamental transformation in how companies approach strategic communication. Industries like automotive, telecom, and retail giants still invest heavily in traditional media, but the vast majority have migrated almost exclusively to digital platforms. These platforms, while versatile, often struggle to maintain roles that they were never designed to fulfill, especially when it comes to delivering a decent return on investment. The role of social media has expanded to replace not just the press office but also the communication agency. A single social media manager can now take on the work that was previously handled by a diverse team of professionals. This is where the misunderstanding lies—not from the perspective of marketing strategies or corporate decisions, but from the viewpoint of the copywriters themselves. Today's copywriters find themselves crafting brief, SEO-focused microtexts that lack future prospects or the creative zest that once defined their profession. This shift has turned a once vibrant art form into something more akin to factory work in the realm of communication. It's time to challenge this shift. We need to point out the shortsightedness of intuitive marketing that masquerades as strategic, as well as address the self-proclaimed copywriters who have appropriated a professional title without embodying its essence. As we continue to navigate these changes, it's crucial to ask ourselves: are we losing the core of creative communication in the rush to stay digitally relevant?

Copywriting and Ayesha? A love hate relationship I still remember my early days as an intern, fascinated by Social Media Marketing, but intimidated by copywriting. Confidence wasn't my strongest suit back then (who can relate?). Luckily, supportive colleagues and seniors guided me, sharing valuable feedback (and some constructive criticism). I absorbed it all, learning and growing. Visuals were my strength, but writing? Not so much... yet! Two years of practice later, I've become decent at copywriting (still learning, though!). My creative visuals now complement my words. The cherry on top? Landed a part-time WFH copywriting job! Today, I can proudly say: Copywriting and Ayesha are on good terms! There's still room for improvement, but I'm thrilled with my progress. Thanks for joining me on this journey!
