Yesterday we were the greatest nation in the world. Today we are the greatest nation in the world. Tomorrow we will still be the greatest nation in the world. That is because of each one of you working hard, being good citizens, greater neighbors… living the idea that is America in each breath. Those that felt let down by ballots, percentages, personalities, let not your heart be troubled. Even in the elation of momentary, divisive exuberance, the reality is we the People are still neighbors. We still take care of each other when in want or need. Nothing’s changed. How do I know this with absolute certainty? All one has to do is look at the direction of traffic at the border. If there comes a time when more want out than in, if our fences become walls, curtains of iron, then is the time to be troubled. So long as Americans keep living the idea that is US, nothing changes. We are the idea.
