This week we share another win of one of our candidates on the journey to their ideal remote role! 🤝 🙋♀️ Gintare says: “Just received the feedback from the company asking me to send them a short 5min video introduction! This is the 1st step of the interview process. Looks like sending the application and then sending the message to the hiring individual on LinkedIn really worked. @Anna Shcherbyna thanks for your great advice!” 🌟 So proud! 🙌🥹 Ready to join us and start moving forward in your remote work journey? 🏡 Remote Work: I turn my camera on. On my most recent team, we had a culture of keeping our cameras on during meetings, and I'm so grateful for that, personally and professionally. Now, it's easy for me, and I can shine in job interviews. 🌟 If employers want to encourage team-building and collaboration, it can be done from the comfort of our homes. 💼 If you want to work remotely and develop trusting relationships, turn your camera on and be camera-ready. 💙 This practice helped our team immensely. It's not just about business; it's about remembering each other's humanity and building stronger connections, even from a distance. Let's embrace the new way of working and build relationships and collaborate virtually. 🤝👩💻 #RemoteWork #TeamBuilding #WorkFromHome

Video Interviews 🎥💼 The shift to remote work has transformed the hiring landscape, with video interviews now a staple in the recruitment process. Here's how to ace your digital debut: Structure your setting First impressions matter, even virtually. Ensure you're in a well-lit, quiet space with a clean background. A spot where natural light faces you is ideal, casting a professional glow on your video canvas. Test your tech in advance to avoid any hiccups and show your prospective employer you're prepared. Master the tech etiquette Familiarity with the platform being used signals tech-savviness. Understand the basics: how to mute/unmute, turn the video on/off, and share your screen. Small nuances, such as looking into the camera for eye contact and nodding to show engagement, can significantly humanize the digital experience. Showcase your adaptability Reflect on examples of how you've adapted to change or navigated remote working effectively. These anecdotes can set you apart, demonstrating your resilience and capability in a digitally evolving world. Engage with energy Your energy can be diluted through a screen, so bring a little extra enthusiasm to convey your passion. Remember, you're not just a candidate on a screen; you're a potential asset to their team with a unique spark. #VideoInterviews #JobSearch #CareerGrowth

𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 With a large proportion of jobs in #medcomms and #healthcommunications offering hybrid working, and quite a few offering fully remote options, it makes sense that hiring processes would usually include a remote interview. I’m a big fan of remote interviewing – it’s usually: ✔ more convenient for hiring teams ✔ more convenient for candidates ✔ can usually be booked in sooner, therefore keeping processes short But I do completely understand that it can still be a bit daunting for some job seekers so in this week’s post I thought I’d cover some simple tips on how you can be your best self in a remote interview: 💻 𝑻𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉 💻 Take 5 mins prior to the interview to make sure your camera, speakers and microphone and internet connections are all working. 🪑 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 🪑 You’ll want to have 100% of your focus on the interview so choose to sit somewhere quiet and let anyone else around you know that you shouldn’t be disturbed. Ensure that the background seen behind you is professional. 👀 𝑷𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒚𝒆-𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕 👀 This is harder than it looks but to be seen to be making eye-contact with someone via video-call, you need to be looking at the camera not at the screen. 📝 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏-𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 📝 Do your research on the company and role, have your prepared questions to hand and dress as you would to meet in person. And the most important thing… 😌 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔! 😌 You can be as prepared as possible and the internet will choose that day to cut out, or the neighbours will start drum lessons, or your kids/partner/pets will ‘forget’ you weren’t to be disturbed. We’ve all been there so a good interviewer won’t hold it against you (and if they do, do you actually want to work for that person?) Of course if you’ve read this and still not convinced, it never hurts to ask for flexibility – if you’d rather go into the office and speak face to face, or meet at a local coffee shop, it’s always worth asking! Happy Interviewing! 🤗

Got a remote interview coming up this week? It can seem daunting, but it's truly an opportunity to shine from your competition! By prepping your tech and presenting your best virtual self, you can impress beyond just your coding chops. Here are some tips to take on board: 1️⃣ Setup Ensure a stable internet connection, quality webcam and crisp audio. Test it all beforehand — tech hiccups can distract from your expertise! Also, choose a clean, professional backdrop and good lighting to create a distraction-free environment. 3️⃣ Communication Articulate your thoughts clearly and avoid tech jargon unless it's truly called for. Remember, it's not just what you say, it's how you say it that can resonate with the interviewer. 4️⃣ Body language Nod, smile and maintain eye contact. Showcase engagement, even through a screen. 5️⃣ Be authentic Companies aren't just hiring skills, they're investing in people. Let your personality peek through; it's about fitting the culture, not just filling a role. 6️⃣ Research Dive deep into the company's tech stack, recent projects and values. Drop that knowledge subtly into conversation to show you're already one step in the door. 7️⃣ Questions Lastly, have a couple of pertinent questions up your sleeve — it shows initiative and turns interview into conversation. If you think you might be the perfect fit for an exciting tech opportunity, get in touch! 📧 jveitch@venngroup.com 📞 0113 234 6400 #RemoteInterviews #TechJobs #CareerGrowth
