Levels.fyi's offer negotiation service is probably my favorite part of the business. It's a product we would dream existed before we even built it and one we're incredibly proud of today. What about it? We guarantee an offer increase or your money back 🤯. Still blows my mind that we can offer this. What's more crazy is the ROI - in Tony's case 18x in one year. I don't know of any investment (stock market, real estate, etc.) that can provide such a high upside with a money-back guarantee.
I just learned a lesson first hand: your earning potential is determined by the value you provide, not by how much work you put in. I paid a negotiation coach from levels.fyi to help with my offer. I paid $2500 for the service and what I got in return was a 30 minute meeting, a short email thread answering my questions, and a draft email asking for specific numbers. I had no other offers to leverage, but I was able to get a $30k total comp raise and starting bonus of $15k. I am thrilled with the service. I don’t care in the slightest how many hours he had to work. The only thing that’s relevant is the end result - 18x ROI in one year. This gave me quite the perspective shift. I’ve heard this from many people, but it sunk in differently from first hand experience. The front-and-center question in any exchange should be: “How can I deliver the most value?”
If you don’t feel confident negotiating your own comp package, definitely pay for someone else to. There’s too much money at stake.
