Have you learned to take rejection and turn it into a motivator? I was approved for membership and introduced as a new member of a local human resources association in 2001. A day or so later, my money was refunded and I was rejected as a member. Someone in the group was against direct hire search consultants joining. (Seems like they should have known that before approving my membership). That did not stop me from joining the largest company in the Knoxville Region as a key member of the human resource team several years later during a staffing crisis and assisting with a massive turnaround. How have you faced rejection and turned it around? Do you keep notes, comments, etc. to make you smile / laugh later in life? #postivemindset #rejection

The 'all recruiters suck' narrative can overshadow the industry's dedicated professionals 🌟. While some might prioritize quick wins over quality, it's important to remember the many who work tirelessly, keeping both candidates' and clients' best interests at heart. With that being said we've got to quit being transactional and focus on being relationship driven. It's a two way street, not a one way path to our fees. #raisethebar #recruiting

In a surprising twist, the labor market is seeing a decrease in voluntary employee turnover, presenting unique challenges for companies. Access to passive talent, individuals not actively job hunting but open to new opportunities, has become crucial. Here's why: Low Attrition: Fewer employees are leaving their jobs, making it challenging to fill open positions. Hiring Difficulties: Companies are struggling to meet hiring goals due to low attrition rates. Value of Passive Talent: Passive talent is a valuable resource, representing those who aren't actively applying but could be ideal for your organization. Talent Pipeline: Maintaining relationships with passive candidates helps build a strong talent pipeline. Retaining Top Performers: It's crucial to retain top talent in a low attrition environment, and passive talent can be a safety net for retention strategies. Adapting Recruitment: Companies must adapt recruitment strategies to attract and engage passive talent. Given how the current job market is evolving, having a robust strategy for identifying, engaging, and nurturing passive candidates is essential. To stay competitive and agile, companies must embrace this new reality, recognizing that passive talent is a valuable resource waiting to be tapped. The ability to identify and attract passive talent could be the key to securing the right talent for your organization's success. Garrett Rosen Olivia I. Two years ago, I received a cease-and-desist letter from an organization’s in-house counsel because we had recruited someone out of their company to a better opportunity. Last week, we received a signed engagement letter from that same organization because they wanted our help recruiting individuals to their company. This tells me a couple things: • There is a yin and a yang to this world. • We are doing something right at The Pederson Group . #recruitment #constructionindustry #hiring #sucessstory

30 years of negotiating offers has taught me this: #Employers often feel they need to pay less. #Employees often feel they need to earn more. This is one of the reasons that the services of a third-party search firm - like ours - are invaluable. ➡ We handle the uncomfortable conversations so it doesn't become personal. ➡ We handle the uncomfortable conversations so it doesn't become emotional. ➡ We handle the uncomfortable conversations so YOU don't have to. 🚀 Director at Hume Scope | Developing Exceptional Recruiters, Teams and Leaders | Innovative and creative recruitment courses
Throw back Tuesday....is that what the kids say? 😆 Annnyway.... an oldy but a goodie back when Melbourne wasn't frozen over! 🥶 I've had a couple conversations with consultants recently about navigating objections, so wanted to share this ep that we did back in March. This is a 2 parter, so I will link both eps in the comments! But I just wanted to say, that when it comes to objections, we certainly have a couple options when navigating how we handle these conversations. Acknowledge, be curious, educate, and most importantly - change your mindset. Objections are powerful points of information, not necessarily a dead-end. If anyone is struggling with these when it comes to BD Calls, feel free to reach out, happy to have a chat! Hume Scope Ez Khan #recruitmenttraining #objections #recruiters #recruitment
