And despite what you might hear from some, TV streamed over the Internet is as open to the masses as anything else. Changing the delivery media should not change how accessible and empowering it is. In some respects, the fact that delivering video to a mass audience is now enabled so that anyone can deliver something out there via social media video such as Instagram/Tiktok and video platforms like Twitch/YouTube actually means it is more democratic. Our regulations that protect access by the public in an open manner just needs to insert 'and streaming' to any regulation that says 'broadcast'.
On November 21st, TV companies worldwide will unite to celebrate World Television Day, a reminder of the powerful role multiplatform TV plays in society.
