💤 SLEEP WELL 🛌 It’s how I usually sign off my messages to my partner as she needs nine hours. Compared to myself who only needs six hours…or seven if it’s a gym day. I think lots of people are finally coming around to how sleep has a big effect on their waking hours. Lots of people used to grind themselves and maybe get two hours of sleep. I used to be one of those people and used to walk around trying to function as normal. I didn’t function at all. My memory was shot, energy was scattered and I relied on cans of Monster alongside coffee to get through the day. Its one of the few things I ask clients is to check how much sleep they’re getting. Often some of the issues we struggle with can be resolved by having good sleep hygiene. Like properly winding down at least an hour before sleep, along with preparing your mind for the following day and keeping your phone away from your bedroom too. The biggest thing I do is really get to those big stressors that take away restful sleep. It’s long term, but it’s important to find accurate solutions to try and get better results. After getting diagnosed with sleep apnea and finally getting support, my life changed from barely functioning to a solid baseline. I still need to be kept in check from time to time but it can open space for other areas. Most of all, a good night’s sleep looks different from person to person…and season to season.
