According to a recent article by the AAMC, nearly 50% of emergency physicians say they’ve been assaulted. 70% of emergency nurses report being hit or kicked on the job, and 47% of emergency physicians say they’ve been assaulted in the ER. OSHA claims that healthcare workers are four times more likely on average to suffer from serious workplace violence (incidents where an injured worker needs time off to recuperate) than those in private industry, data shows. And nearly 70% of physicians in a recent ACEP/ENA survey said that emergency department violence is increasing. So, what’s the solution? Increasing dependence on nurse practitioners and physician assistants to meet medical demand is on the rise, with employment projected to grow by 45% and 27%, respectively, between 2022 and 2032, according to the SIA. This growth is driven by an aging population, improved geographical access to care, and the adoption of team-based care models pairing physicians with NPs and PAs. 💚 Attention Managers, Area/Regional Managers, and Directors of Residential and Nursing Homes! As the demand for personalised care in residential and nursing homes continues to grow, I would like to know: What do you think has the greatest impact on improving the quality of care for patients and residents? 1. CQC Communication and Standards: Clear and consistent communication from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regarding standards and expectations, providing guidance and clarity to care providers. 2. Staff Training and Education: Upskilling staff to enhance their understanding of complex care needs and management. 3. Use of Technology: Leveraging tools such as Medication Management Systems or Patient Record Management Systems to boost efficiency, improve accuracy, and save time, allowing staff to dedicate more attention to patients/residents. 4. Staffing Levels: Ensuring optimal staffing levels to provide more one-on-one time with residents, reducing employee stress and improving individualised care. I'm really interested in getting your thoughts and insights on this! #Healthcare #ElderCare #NursingHomes #ResidentialCare #CareQuality #StaffTraining #HealthcareTechnology #CQCStandards #CareManagement #QualityCare #HealthcareLeadership
