So I made the comment that China shouldn't worry about overcapacity and overinvestment because if it can't find anything else to do with with building stuff, then it can build high speed rail..... On Mars.... People didn't think I was serious but I was. The thing about thinking 5000 years into the past is that you think 5000 years into the future. One reason the Chinese state is just obsessed with building stuff is that this is what the Chinese state has been doing for thousands of years. I figure that China will spend the next 20 to 30 years pushing its productive capacity at the energy transition, and toward the end of the 21st century all that productive capacity will be focused on solar system colonization. https://lnkd.in/gM5tDskZ
