After careful analysis of over 300,000 views of my posts on LinkedIn, it seems that everything can be boiled down to five general categories. I have reorganized my website to reflect this and it seems to make for a better representation of work context knowledge. The optologics group of posts point toward the framework for the development of concrete learning science. The systemism group of posts outline a systems framework for work context knowledge. The education group of posts points towards a new view of education education. The accountability group of posts enables us to clarify knowledge in the context of work. The work group of posts provides the framework for using work context knowledge in the workplace. While systemism seems to be complicated, in reality it is just common sense. I always felt over the years that there was a harmony to human knowledge if we could frame it properly. I think that I have achieved that to a reasonable extent. But everyone can judge that as they see fit. https://lnkd.in/dNVUz4b

This Professor has done a lot of work in integrating ACT in workplaces. I am going to read through his publications before emailing to introduce myself including my Resume and Publications. How interesting to have found somebody who has gone this far with this. Worker wellbeing is a key theme for him (including how to counter perfectionism and burnout). I don't think there are many who have taken ACT into the workplace. On his bio it states that 'His latest ACT-based training program has been successfully utilised by around 30 NHS trusts, and in various other organisations.' There are others but his name is at the lead and to date his name is mostly included in any publication author list that I have seen. I need to do a more thorough review though. I am enjoying DBT immensely as a complement to ACT. It will be interesting getting his thoughts on the combination of these together in a training package for organizations for a) staff wellbeing as individuals and as teams b) to help facilitate change processes. I am interested why he just choose ACT. Both techniques have been around for a while.

This is a challenge faced by many OTs: How do I write my NDIS reports in a neuro-affirming way, while still highlighting the need for supports? It can be a tricky balance to achieve, but one tip is to use language such as “difference in preferences” and then describe how this impacts on function and participation, rather than words such as “deficit” or “impairment”. I’m sure there are OTs out there that have other suggestions and I’d love to hear what we can learn from each other! Almost a week has passed since my clinical attachment at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. In contrast to my previous CA, it was a change in environment. From the relatively slow-paced setting in a community hospital to being thrust into the rapid routines of a general hospital. In the following, are 3 major takeaways from my experience: Taking initiative is a game changer : When you volunteer to do tasks despite the initial lack of confidence, you learn faster. Often, we don’t know what we don’t know. Sometimes, we need to make mistakes to learn from them and taking initiative essentially puts you on the spot to implement what you do know. Good communication is crucial : There will be times you will feel overwhelmed and voicing out how you feel not only helps you get rid of the pent up negativity but also garner the support you need to reassess and find out what you need to do to improve. Turn intimidation into inspiration : It is easy to fall into the trap of comparing knowledge and feeling inadequate but I’ve learnt that using that as a form of motivation to discover more can be immensely satisfying instead of wallowing in self-pity.
