📑 In June, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine gave the green light to the reform of the Bureau of Economic Security, which was strongly advocated by businesses and Ukraine's international partners. The European Business Association welcomed this decision, recognizing it as a step forward in combating economic crime and smuggling. 📍 However, according to the business community, the functioning of the reformed Bureau may not become fully effective without several amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (CPC). These changes are necessary to protect businesses from excessive pressure by law enforcement agencies and unlawful interference in economic activities. Therefore, the business community proposes refining the draft law No. 10440, dated January 29, 2024, to facilitate an effective reform in the country.
