Day 2: Blockchain and Its Role in the Digital Economy 🔗 This session focused on Blockchain, Deborah Enyone Oni (LLB. BL. LLM. NIM) with her expert knowledge demystified the concept of Blockchain😌. As much as I had been hearing about Blockchain, I never really understood what it entails until after this session. I learnt that Blockchain is essentially a time-stamped, immutable(unalterable) chain of records managed by a decentralized network of computers. This structure ensures that no single entity has control, making it highly secure and efficient. During the session we explored its applications in the digital economy such as in finance, intellectual property, health care and even voting systems. We also learnt the legal and regulatory implications of blockchain technologies and how it intersects with law. Balance the costs and benefits of cryptocurrencies as a payment mechanism 💵 2. Resolve trust issues with smart contracts 🤝 3.
