In November, LG hosted our annual REINVENT Day, an initiative to educate and engage staff in our Life’s Good philosophy. The event served as a brand immersion day, streamed live from our Australian headquarters to offices across the country and in New Zealand, giving employees a deeper understanding of LG’s Global ESG strategy and aligning it with our local activities. Highlights of the Day: An engaging Q&A session with MasterChef’s Poh Ling Yeow took center stage as we celebrated the launch of our LG built-in cooking category in partnership with The Good Guys. The day was made more memorable with a themed lunch fostering team connection and creativity. We announced LG’s partnership with Taronga Conservation Society Australia to employees, through an inspiring panel discussion with notable speakers: Tyson Mayr – TV Presenter & Wildlife Activist Christie Gazal – Community Impact Support Officer, Taronga Conservation Society Australia Paul Maguire – Director of Education, Taronga Conservation Society Australia Along with insights from Gemma Lemieux, Marketing Director and Louise Annetts, General Manager of Corporate Marketing at LG Electronics ANZ. We explored how purposeful choices and collective action can drive meaningful change, reinforcing the idea that doing good enriches both the planet and our own wellbeing. Additionally, we introduced LG as the presenting partner for Taronga’s Hatch: Taronga Accelerator Program, the world’s only start up incubator led by a conservative zoo. Supported by LG, Hatch empowers ecopreneurs to tackle environmental challenges though an immersive 14-week program driving innovation in conservation. 🎉 To make the day even more memorable, prizes were up for grabs for participants and our team embraced the opportunity to do good through Taronga Zoo’s e-dopt an animal program, further supporting conservation efforts. The enthusiasm and engagement of our staff showcased the power of Life’s Good and combining forces to build a more sustainable future. Here’s to continuing our ESG journey and making a difference – together! https://lnkd.in/dRVsAjg8 #DoGood #LGLifesGood #Taronga #Hatch #Sustainability #Conservation

The opening of a new dog park is more than just a local achievement; it’s a major step in transforming urban spaces into more sustainable environments. I couldn’t keep this news to myself… Thanks to the SWAP Year 4 campaign, 840,000 used pet food bags were recycled in Chiang Mai 🇹🇭 and repurposed to create functional and durable equipment for the park. You might say, "OK David, it’s just a dog park..." But it's actually so much more! In a region where pets are only just beginning to be recognized as full members of families - only 23% of Thai households owned a pet in 2023, according to Euromonitor International - I truly see the importance of such initiatives. They not only raise awareness but also inspire communities to rethink how we design urban spaces to include animals. This collaboration between Mars Petcare and local authorities blends circular economy principles, community engagement, and sustainable urban design. Creating cities where humans and pets can coexist is a great goal, but doing so while minimizing environmental impact is even better. Sharing the work behind projects like this shows there are no small projects, only meaningful successes. Today, one of our clients Yumeko (Fitzroy | Part of United Playgrounds is responsible for positioning, identity and campaiging) is closing its online shop in all seven countries. And for good reason. It’s Earth Overshoot Day. Today, we – as human beings – have used up all the ecological resources that the Earth can generate in one year. And it’s only August. Every year, we draw into our reserves more and more. To us, being an impact-driven brand, that is alarming. That’s why Yumeko decided to close its online shops today. Hoping this serves as a wake-up call for people to consider the resources they consume. To sleep on it before they buy. Curious about what Yumeko is doing to push back Earth Overshoot Day? hashtag #MoveTheDate Instead of selling our truly sustainable items today, we’ve launched our Impact Report. A very Happy Earth Day from Team ACW! 🌏 We feel empowered and inspired after a successful tabling event at this year's Earth and Arbor Day in Cupertino, CA. We're grateful for the opportunity to share how food and lifestyle choices make a big impact on our environment. With many of the youth and adults we met already inclined towards a plant-based lifestyle, we're reassured that the future of our environment is in good hands. We also showcased exquisite hand-embroidered, sustainable tote bags from our in-house brand, Avirose, which were loved by many - all proceeds from their sales will go towards the underprivileged artisans who made them, and animal shelters. We look forward to continuing to attend transformative, zero-waste events like this over time. 🌱 On this Earth Day, we urge everyone to honor Mother Earth by adopting a sustainable and cruelty-free lifestyle. Please visit our website to learn how your small steps can make a huge impact on the future of our planet. Let us celebrate each day as Earth Day! 💚 https://lnkd.in/gihD-Jc4 Music: Lovely Piano Song Musician: Rafael Krux #acompassionateworld #bayarea #cupertino #earth #earthday #earthday2024 #plantbased #sustainablehandicrafts #plantbaseddeliciousness #plantbasedlifestyle #sustainable #sustainability #protectourplanet #savetheearth #vegan #bayareavegan #californiavegan #earthfriendly #earthfriendlylifestyle #gogreen #sustainableliving #savetheplanet #savetheenvironment #environment #environmentallyfriendly #ecofriendly #ecowarrior #ecoliving #climatechange #changetheclimate The food in the video is not meant for advertising any brands, and this video is not sponsored.

🌍 Founder Story: Creating Impact Through Community Action 🌍 In 2015, I founded the Pier2Pier Beach Clean with a simple idea: combine environmental action with fun. Over the next five years, we introduced thousands of people to litter picking through our Silent Disco Beach Cleans in Brighton & Hove. Every month, hundreds of locals and tourists joined us to clean the beach while dancing together—a perfect mix of joy, community, and environmental responsibility. 🌊🎧✨ One of our proudest moments came in 2019 when we organized the Brighton Pride Silent Disco Beach Clean. After the parade, over 500 volunteers cleared 2 tonnes of rubbish from the beach, dancing every step of the way. It was a powerful reminder that collective action, when made joyful and inclusive, can truly make a difference. 🏳️🌈💪 Through this initiative, we had the support of companies like Lush and Lucy & Yak, received media coverage from BBC, VICE, and Huffington Post, and hosted corporate away days with organizations like Sky, Unilever, and DHL. We even launched a city-wide campaign to reduce littering, which was sponsored by Lush. This work earned us a nomination for the Keep Britain Tidy Litter Hero Award. 🏅♻️ I was inspired by the #2minutebeachclean movement and wanted to find a way to make environmental action something people would look forward to. By blending purpose with play, we created something that sparked real change in the community—and had fun doing it. What started as a small idea turned into a movement that helped raise awareness around environmental stewardship, created lasting memories for participants, and fostered deep connections within the community. Key takeaway: People want to do good, and if we make it engaging and joyful, the impact can be even greater. If you're interested in how to bring community-led initiatives like this into your business or community, I’d love to connect and share more. Building purposeful, joyful experiences that bring people together for a better world. 🌍💫 #Leadership #CommunityEngagement #PurposeDriven #EventProfsUK

🐝 Today is World Bee Day 🐝 World Bee Day is celebrated to acknowledge the vital role of bees & other pollinators in the ecosystem. It’s a day to raise awareness about the importance of bees for environmental health & the threats they face due to human activities. It’s a day to appreciate & contribute to the sustainability of our environment 💛💚 For those of you who don't know, I love bees & for me, the journey to becoming a beekeeper has taught me the true meaning of a growth mind-set. It has taught me resilience, problem-solving, adaptability, patience, empathy & even physical strength (trust me, a honey-laden frame is heavy!). But above all, it has emphasised the importance of communication & connection. So, it got me thinking, how much alike are we in People & Culture (P&C) to our fellow bees? Bees work together within their hive to achieve collective success & in similarity the bustling activity & collaboration of a P&C team mirrors this, illustrating how both nature & business thrive through being connected, communicating & have a shared purpose. 🐝 Each member of a P&C team, like each bee in the hive, has specific roles & responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of not just a team, but an organisation as a whole. 🐝 Bees communicate with each other through the waggle dance – yip, they actually dance! P&C teams rely on effective communication & collaboration too. Shall we adopt a shared P&C dance routine perhaps?! 🐝 Bees are adaptable, constantly learning & responding to their environment. This is reflected in P&C teams as they are agile, continuously learning & adapting to change. 🐝 A beehive is a supportive community. Each bee contributes to nurturing the young & protecting the hive. Just like P&C teams, they foster a supportive environment looking after each other, employees & encouraging growth. 🐝 Bees are known for their efficiency in pollination & honey production. P&C teams work collaboratively so organisations can operate efficiently. So, it appears to be that the link between bees & P&C teams lies in the importance of collaboration, communication, shared values, diversity, inclusion & connection so we can adapt & foster a cohesive community. Isn’t that sweet? 🐝🍯 🐝 Happy World Bee Day 🐝 #boqgroup #workwithboqgroup #careersatboqgroup #diversityandinclusion #worldbeeday

Patagonia are amazing, often held up as the poster company for amazing-ness. Although you DON'T have to be the next Patagonia to make an impact — but if you’re serious about aligning purpose with strategy, you DO need to measure it. 📸 Queue a photo of me somewhere in the mountain range that inspired that iconic Patagonia logo! Sorry about the sunglasses, just trying to land the Patagonia point. Last week I wrote about why purpose matters to stakeholders, but I wanted to follow up with the importance of MEASUREMENT. Telling your stakeholders you are purposeful without actually proving it is worthless and often a net negative resulting in lack of trust and dissatisfaction. I thought it would be nice to bring this to life with some examples. Mars reported £88m in social value in 2023, equating to £23,000 per employee, and created a Social Value Report to shout about it. Breaking this down, they: ✨ Delivered 2,000+ weeks of apprenticeships and training 🤝 Contributed 1,800 hours of volunteering 🏫 Career talks at 23 schools 🌱 45 tonnes of plastic reduced Virgin Media O2, are: 📶 Providing free mobile data to 100,000+ people via the National Databank 📱 Rehoming 10,000+ smartphones through Community Calling 🌐 Investing in 5,000+ digital inclusion hubs to empower underserved communities 💬 What makes these efforts stand out isn’t just the work—they’ve quantified their value and in Virgin's case TANGIBLY LINKED IT TO THEIR BUSINESS STRATEGY. Also, if you can't measure it, how do you know it's working? 👋 How are you quantifying the value of your impact? I’d love to chat!

Breaking News! We have managed to recruit 40,000 new company members for our site in Hamburg in record time!... and the good thing is: They don’t even take up any office space 😉 At Coloplast, we aim high to balance the wellbeing of people with the planet and, as part of Strive25, we have set high ambitions to reach this. Did you know that bees 🐝 play a key role in our ecosystem and that they are fundamental to biodiversity? That is why we have decided to settle 40,000 honeybees on our premises in collaboration with the local start up Place4Bees (40,000 does sound a lot but they don’t take up more space than two moving boxes). This way we can contribute to the protection of the environment, experience sustainability up close and give our employees an insight into the fascinating world of the bees. #sustainability
