The US power grid demands new transmission infrastructure that can accommodate growing renewable capacity – this will require time and investments. What can we do in parallel to ensure the reliability of our electrical grid? According to energy expert Jeremy Klingel, there is a critical solution that can bridge the transmission buildout gap today: demand response. Per his view, demand response leaders such as Enel, in conjunction with utilities, will play a critical role in building not only a clean but a reliable grid that can bounce back quickly including during extreme weather events.
