I Help Founders/CEOs Be(come) Values-led Strategic Leaders who are a Force for Good, using my BEE™ Transformation Framework - I've walked in their shoes, and now I'm acting as their guide
Sweep your venue doorstep yourself. First impressions count. How do you set a standard and an example of what: - is important to you - customers' first impressions are - level of attention to detail is needed to succeed When I ran my little multi-site group of hospitality venues, I would often: - grab a brush and sweep the entrance before opening - said G'day to neighbours and passers-by - contribute to preparing the 'welcome' I often walk by venues these days and notice: - litter and rubbish around their entrances - dirty entrance doors and windows - out-of-date signage & offers When we enter our own venues through the same door every day, often a back door, not the front door... we can miss the little details. The little details our customers notice... and especially new customers who haven't visited before. If we sell food, what the customer sees as they enter tells them: - how much the owner/manager cares about the place - whether they're likely to be warmly welcomed - how clean the kitchen is! So, mix it up, which way you enter your venues yourself. Now and again, pick up a brush and sweep your doorstep. For me, this sits under my "operational excellence" and "systems" guides. Picking up a brush & sweeping your doorstep is also a metaphor for life💖 PS - if you want to lift your game and get better results, DM me with the word "Results" and I'll send you a free video training to inspire you #leadership #strategy #wellebing #regeneration Tibor Pittich of Hospitality

20+yrs Corporate Events Planner ╿ In-person/Virtual Events ╿ Women's Leadership Summits ╿ Executive Golf Retreats ╿ Keynote Speaker Sourcing ╿ Vendor Relations ╿ Trade Show Management ╿ Field Marketing
Have you read the fine print?... I recently heard a story about a company that wanted to bring in an outside resource to help stage their event but didn't realize that the hotel contract they'd signed didn't allow for 3rd-party vendors. It might seem obvious, but that's why someone intimately involved with the event must review the contracts BEFORE signing them. A seasoned event planner familiar with your program would notice this and many other clauses in a contract that could negatively impact your event--and then work with the venue to remove or amend those statements before it's too late. It's not enough to pass the contracts along to your Legal team to sign. The lawyers wouldn't know that you might want to bring in your own AV or production team or that you need special food accommodations that the hotel can't support. It's the responsibility of an experienced event planner to scrutinize contracts and talk through changes with the venue. Make sure you're working with someone who can spot potential issues a mile away--and then fix them.

https://lnkd.in/eQETsQAu You'll see this headline in BBC News today, with lots of Yorkshire-based content: "Cash-Strapped Clubbers Make Their Nights Out Count" With data for thousands of live events (right now) across Yorkshire, at Yorkshire.com we have seen this to be true. Habits are changing and fast, but people are attending well produced live events more than ever. This often comes in place of spending that once was for other hospitality - like local pubs - and foreign holidays. Similar things are true of restaurants and domestic hotel stays: adding more space in between, people are saving and then going large. Operators who have adapted to these changes are just about managing. But it’s a very hard time to be in any of these sectors, as the market is shrinking as a result of these changes.

Party season is officially upon us! Before we get carried away reaching for the finest bottle of [insert favourite drink here], remember, the Taxman never takes a break. Here are our top tips to help prevent him from stealing the party thunder: 1: Location location location - will it be onsite or offsite? FBT won't apply to parties held onsite, during the day, for your current employees. 2: Keep the per head cost to $300 or less so as to avoid it becoming an entertainment benefit. 3: Who's on the guest list? FBT does not apply to clients, but will to employees and their associates (their partner for example). As always, we all want to have a good time, let's not inadvertently live to regret the hangover in the New Year! #smallbusinessaustralia #smallbusinessowners #supportsmallbusinesses #smallbusinessowner #smallbusinessau #supportlocalbusinesses #smallbusinesssupport #perthlife #smallbusinessperth #smallbusinessperthmums #australianbusiness #womeninbusiness #smallbusinessmarketing #supportsmall #smallbusinesslove #smallbusinesstips #australiansmallbusiness #perthsmallbusinesses

“So you know that roundabout in front of the McDonald’s on the main road? You keep going straight until the statue of the Virgin. At that roundabout you have the first exit - don’t take that one - you have the second exit - don’t take that one either- take the third exit. You know that first right turn after you exit? Yea, don’t take that one. Keep going straight. You’ll see a left turn- don’t take that one either. Go straight until you see the Tesco and then take a left and that’ll put you on the motorway.” (All said in the deepest Cork accent imaginable) 😵💫 My first few months in Ireland were mostly spent getting lost. I had in fact gained a reputation for getting lost. Who knows why with the impeccable directions as the ones detailed above. While I lost the road I was supposed to be on, I found an appreciation for other things: ➡️ GPSs (aka SatNav) - goes without saying ➡️ Intuition - if you know someone or where they’re coming from, it’s easier to intuit what they are actually expressing ➡️The importance of clear communication. This last one stays with me in particular as building a team and dealing with clients requires clear communication (not to mention being married!). I always find that I need to improve my communication skills - as not everyone communicates or understands things in the same way. What’s obvious to me is not obvious to someone else and vice versa. This is one reason why I like a partnership model with groups that reach out to us to travel. I need to hear your expectations, understand them, in order to meet and hopefully exceed them. I need to let you know what we need from you to make this work. The more we work together, the more we can intuit and anticipate each other’s needs. Personalizing every trip is more work for us. It also means we’re better set up to hit the mark and to not leave group feeling as lost as I did in this picture 10 years ago. #catholictravel #wheredthehairgo

CEO Robert Irving Burns & Aspida Single Family Office, Property Investment Real Estate Fund Management Wealth Management
Flat for sale – adjoining noisy pub with outside seating. Situated above a small basement drinking den in a busy central London location close to a nightclub with a 3am licence. Not really! Apologies for the clickbait, but who would buy such a flat and then make a noise complaint? I don’t get it. But that is exactly what is happening with local authorities taking action and stifling the late-night economy. Places like soho are changing beyond all recognition, elsewhere major clubs like Fabric have closed and whilst my raving nights are behind me I mourn the end of an era and don’t want to live in a homogenised London with the same chain shops and restaurants everywhere. If you want to live in soho, and you should, it’s fabulous, accept that noise is part and parcel of the experience. According to the Night Time Industries Association, 31 per cent of the UK’s nightclubs, amounting to more than 1,000 venues, have been forced to close in the last 3 years partially due to noise complaints and licensing issues. A classic example is the 200-year-old Compton Arms in Islington, which was threatened with closure a couple of years ago after four new neighbours who moved into the area complained that customers were too noisy! My take: Don’t buy somewhere and expect to change the area to suit you, buy where you want to live. #hospitality #nightlife #realestate #soho

Somehow this faux OOH marketing strategy from TBWA\London for Hilton came across my feed.. and it is just amazing! 🤩 I love this version of new-real in communication. Would it be the end of traditional out-of-home? #marketingstrategy #tourism #hospitality #digitaltools
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a gigantic 'Do Not Disturb' sign, of course. Our first work of 2024 for the lovely folks at Hilton went live in London this weekend (sort of). TBWA\London put out a duo (duet?) of faux OOH executions to celebrate Hilton's inaugural year as a sponsor of The #BRITs. Thanks to Kate Dixon, Ester Martin, Jillian Jackson and team for letting us have some fun with the iconic London Hilton On Park Lane, stimulating a lively discussion in the comments section about everything from the joys of room service to possible health and safety violations. 😂 Lots more in store for the year ahead 💪 💥 ✨ 🏨 Paul Jordan | Phoebe Kennedy | Yashika Jain | Ben Etheridge | Coffee & TV
